Family group of 9 visited hotel in early April 2018.
Reception on arrival was good. Finding your rooms is not so good. Suggest you locate your room and then retrieve your cases.
Rooms were clean spacious and ours had magnificent views. Cleaning was adequate.
Pool was freezing. Do not believe their statement that booking of sunbeds is not permitted. On more than one occasion I heard guests complaining to the lifeguard that there were towels on sunbeds from early in morning to midday with still nobody using them And still the lifeguard did not remove the towels.
Restaurant was worst part of holiday. Not enough indoor seating and too cold to eat outside. Unlike other hotels no staff to welcome you and show you to a table when one becomes available. So you spend time walking around the restaurant hoping to spot people on their desert. Totally unacceptable. I found food average and not hot enough. Others in party liked the meals.
Bar was ok although we had unpleasant situation of drunken clients too often in bar later in evening, Bar staff did not have the courage to stop serving hem and there was no security when they left bar at closing time and then started to create a disturbance. Beer and other drinks are good.
Yes it is at top of a steep hill. But surely you do a bit of research before booking and should be aware of this.
I suppose it was a reasonable deal for the money we paid . But with views like the hotel has it could be an outstanding hotel. But it is not.

Room Tip: Ask for room with bay views,

This hotel is excellent value for price ! It is high up but the views are stunning and free bus goes on the hour every hour till 6pm if you like out and about like us. Can't think of any downside here apart from some guests complaining about the stairs - we requested a low floor before we went so didn't have that problem. Staff are brilliant , rooms large + clean with really comfy beds , 2 swimming pools are fab , food delicious for A/I + entertainment day + night good too. Would certainly return to this hotel if ever go back to Santa Ponsa .

Room Tip: ask for low floor if not good with stairs

We loved it. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Food was very good plenty to choose from. The staff are amazing. We went out of school holiday so was full of people our age and not many children so it was very relaxed atmosphere. Andy, the manager was fantastic. Would definitely go again. Not sure if it would suit 18-25 but everyone else would be fine. Very good value for money.

Room Tip: have a very long walk in the morning before it gets hot after breakfast then make the most of the sun and the all inclusive

The staff were generally very friendly and helpful, especially the reception team. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but:

The pool was freezing and you are not actually allowed to ‘play’ in it. No balls, no games and it’s seems the life guards just want a nice empty pool to sit by and chill out.

The food was ok, good salad selection and cold items were mostly good. Hot food was rarely hot, or even warm on some occasions. The idea that a microwave is a substitute for serving the food hot in the first place somewhat misses the point. I thought that EU membership meant that food hygiene regulations were the same across the EU? Try serving food that temperature in the U.K.

The game facilities were good, squash, tennis, football, ping pong were all free to use with a €5 deposit.

Drinks were decent enough with a good selection and good service. Sometimes a bit of a wait.

Excellent views all around, it is a beautiful location. You can walk down to Santa Ponsa and the beach in about ten minutes. Go right out of the hotel and follow the road down. You will get to some very steep steps on your right which take you into the town centre.

There are a few bars and restaurants and a supermarket a bit closer if you go left out of the hotel.

This is a good option if you are on a budget, you get everything you would expect from a 3 star AI hotel in Spain.

We got a taxi back to the airport which was €45 and takes about 25 minutes.

This hotel is great the food is fabulous, the staff are absolutely super
The bar manager who's name is Chencho is very professional and so funny and he also sings a great song or two on the weekly karaoke
Also not to forget Rafa who always has a smile on his face and is a firm favourite with the guests the 3rd member of the team is Pablo who again is a really nice guy, it seems you only have to wait for a few minutes and the que at the bar has gone these guys are good

Now to the entertainment team they are Aianoha, Victoria, and Mikhail they work hard and put on one of the best entertainment programmes I have ever seen having seen a lot in my life as well as evening shows they also spend a lot of time with the kids and the adults alike with archery and rifle shooting and the kids club they are all very friendly and eager to help
The restaurant serves great food with lots of fresh fruit and salad plus every day there is a good range of meat and fresh fish plus local dishes like paella and majorcan rice dishes
Vicente the maitre has a great crew of staff, changwen and eeno and Carlos the chef who cooks the nightly show cooking in the restaurant
The reception crew are great sorry cannot remember all of the names Andy Filipe and the rest of the team nothing is too much trouble for them and also a mention for Ivan he is part of the technical team but also has the job of ferrying the guests to the beach in the free shuttle bus
The only downside is that the complex is a little tired but clean although the management are renovateing the hotel 1 block at a time ,the hotel is on a hillside and maybe difficult for anyone who has difficulty walking but inside the hotel is disabled people friendly .We will return for sure
