Recently stayed at the Plazamar for 7 nights on a self catering basis and had a really enjoyable stay.
I was in apartment 301 on the top floor of the Stone building which was lovely and quiet. The apartment itself was pretty spacious with twin beds pushed together, sofa, dressing area as well as a bathroom and kitchen area and table. The kitchen area included a 2 ring hob, fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster and assorted pots and pans. Perfect for making breakfast and light snacks although I think you'd struggle to make anything more elaborate than pasta and sauce for dinner.
The cleaners kept the apartment beautifully clean and - despite what other reviews say - I didn't hear any noise from the neighbouring apartments.
The public areas are very nice and the pool area didn't ever get too crowded. I didn't have much interaction with the staff but they always seemed very friendly and helpful.
The only disappointment was a couple of deeply average lunches that we got from the snack bar (although the AI food looked lovely) but the hotel is so well located that it just gave us the chance to try out more of the local cafes and restaurants.
I'd definitely recommend the hotel - although anyone with mobility issues should think carefully first as there are A LOT of stairs.More
