Our 3rd visit to L'Appartement (we visit St Omer a couple of times a year) and were again very happy. The food and service was as good as always and excellent value. The menu hasn't changed much over the years but it's still one of the best places in town to eat.

Stay in St Omer 2-3 times a year and like to try new restaurants. Never eaten here (or as it's predecessor). First impressions was it looked a bit 'posh' but looking at the menu outside saw the prices were very reasonable. Ordered kirs and were given some terrine and bread complementary as an aperitif which was a nice touch and very tasty. Husband had steak and i went for chicken in a creamy mustard sauce. Served with salad, a selection of veg and chips. Really lovely meal and well presented. Desert was cafe gourmand for husband which included a mini creme brulé so he was very happy. I had the chocolate mousse which was served in a jam jar which was quirky but was absolutely delicious. Not sweet or over rich but lovely bits of crunchy chocolate inside. House wines served in half litre caraf at very good price made for a great evening. Waiter spoke perfect English also which made the ordering experience much easier. Thank you L'Appartement. We will definitely be back.

Trendy restaurant just off the main square. Went in there for lunch and we both that the 3 courses lunchtime special. The place was fairly full but we managed to get a table although it was a long table with 2 other couples sitting on it however it wasnt cramped. Friendly staff who all spoke english. Food was delicious. Recommend

We went here for lunch. The restaurant was empty but we were shown to a very small table in the middle of the restaurant. The better tables were not reserved and we would have liked to have a table in the window or somewhere more private. We were the only English customers and although the website reviews say that they speak very good English we saw no sign of them attempting to assist us although I was trying my best to speak their language. My husband had a salad and I had a "Welsh complet" which was a huge amount of cheese on very soggy bread with a half cooked egg on top. I left most of it as it was a thick mess. We would have hoped that we would have been accorded the same amount of smiles and conversation as were the French customers and as we in this country would accord to foreigners. We love France and did not vote to leave the EU and wondered if this was the reason they were rather cold towards us. Who knows?

We've been to St Omer several times over the last few years but have not eaten here as we have not been able to get in - it's always been full. Now we know why.

This is an expensive looking restaurant, but it's actually reasonably priced. The food is great and the staff attentive. The manager speaks perfect English so if your French is iffy, don't worry.

We've always had the meat dishes which have been excellent.

I recommend booking to avoid disappointment!
