I visited on a Sunday evening quite late but was welcomed by the very pleasant staff I ordered a rump steak well done when it arrived it was more like medium but that is normal in France and the pepper sauce was the best I had had for a very long time I had profiteroles for dessert which were beautiful. The house wine was great value

I believ this establishment is called L'Industie. I also believe it is now under new management.
I found myself last Thursday at this restaurant for lunch the 25th June 2015
It is in a pedestrian street close to the Main Square in St Omer which is a beautiful typical French town with a stunning cathedral and quaint streets. We had sea food. Oysters, whelks and prawns. Pate de foie gras. Our main courses were a variety of fish with vegetables, lamb cutlets and steak. All were beautifully cooked, prepared and presented. We had a selection of deserts with coffee wine and water for about £25 per head. In England the same food would have cost half as much again. The ambience, weather and service were all wonderful. We had a meal in the hotel in which we were staying that evening but all of us agreed our lunch far exceeded our evening dining experience.
If In St Omer I would recommend visit to this restaurant.

The evening we dined there the restaurant was empty which may be led to a more sombre tone to our meal. That said, all the food that was presented was interesting if slightly lacking in focus and amount. I agree with other reviewers but the starters and the deserts were the stars of the meal. The main courses being the weakest members of the fixed priced menus. The service was good and the chef interested in feedback which is always welcome. For the prices charged this offers good value for money and I look forward to going back there next time I'm in St Omer.

Ok, so I feel weird about this one.

The food was beautifully presented but I am just bad with the cold food thing. A cold starter of asparagus and egg with fromage blanc left me, well unsatisfied. The warm, crispy bacon on top helped, but couldn't rescue it for me. My partner loved it. He has a better palette than me for this type of food. And it was his restaurant choice, so it's only fair to add this.

The mains again, beautiful to look at. My fish was very nice and different, being wrapped in pastry. The vegetables were simple, but just didn't wow me.

The desserts were best. The tiramisu is exceptional. Presentation a little unusual, but tasted perfect.

This is not an average restaurant hence the score, but you do need to enjoy the French fine dining style to 'get' this place. My husband did...I didn't - but I can't knock it for that.
