This building is huge and the facade is beautiful. For a nominal fee, you can go up the observation deck for a nice view of the city. They close pretty early though so when we were there, we didn't bother because it would have been too bright anyway. The lobby had a lot of information for tourists, and it has a little gift shop, and a place to sit around and relax, but other than that there wasn't really much inside.

The exhibitions we saw were alright, it was LGBT focused, following pride. But the building is an archetechural masterpiece! Very beautiful. Then we found the bar at the top and we were spoilt for sunsets!! What an amazing way to wind down an evening. We were lucky to get a table, so try go early if a nice beverage with an amazing sunset is something you might enjoy.

The main reason for visiting might be the observation deck, which gives good views of the city, and is very reasonably priced. However, it is an interesting building with regular temporary exhibits. In addition, there are some great quiet spaces just to relax with a book.

The views are lovely and give you a good panoramic 360 degree view of the city. Although only 8 stories high, the height of each storey of the building means you're higher than the 8th storey of a modern building. There are good photos marking the key buildings you can see, and helpfully giving you the date of construction of the buildings. It's good vale at €2 per adult (and 50c for U12s). But the attraction is run in the way only governments/local governments, who have no concept of customer service, do so: the attraction is shut for siesta time (presumably because it is staffed by local government staff), you have to buy the ticket before you go up which is not clearly marked, you can't take bags in but it's not obvious where the lockers are and the security for the X-ray machine was unnecessarily surly and rude and made no attempt to be foreigner-friendly. I've got no idea what client-centric is in Spanish but neither have the people who run the attraction and I think the City of Madrid should sort it out.

It cost €4 to go up to the Mirador (viewing deck), which gives a great relaxed 360 degree view. Queues are short, if at all, and the attraction is well managed. Buy your ticket at the Taquilla window when you arrive, no need to pre-book.
The interesting thing is that this is a Madrid Council centre, but it provides lounges and quiet areas for visitors and citizens to relax, read papers, ask questions of council officials and enjoy their own city. Lovely laid-back Spain at work again.
