The space center is the best place to visit if you are in Houston (Texas). Its is a half day trip and you can view the various technologies with space and craft and a must go place for kids.

We booked our visit with NASA's Space Center & Houston's Official City Tour, a great way to do it, everything organised and the tours where well hosted. We ran out of time to do everything but overall it was quite interesting, it is well worth going to see.

We visited the Space Centre in September. The center is quite big and has a lot of information, but the highlight is the tram tour. It lasts 1.5h and our guide Addison was very good, he gave us a lot of interesting facts and information. We got to see the mission control building from the inside and also we went to the building where the astronauts are trained. I don't think the visit would be that interesting without taking the tram. The only downside is that we waited ages for the tram.there are no specific times when the tram is leaving, when we asked, we were told that they'll start loading in 10 minutes but then we waited another 40 minutes. If we knew in advance how long we needed to wait, we would use that time more efficiently and walk around the center for a big longer before taking the tram. Also, there are no show time displayed. It only says that the movie lasts 15 minutes and it is ongoing. We assumed it will be at the full hour every 15 minutes so we went there at 11.15 and the movie was playing, we thought it has just started but it turns out it was the old movie that was finishing. Not the big deal as the new one started in about 5 minutes, but it could be better organised.

Also, 3 years ago we visited Kennedy Space Centre and I remember it being more interesting.

I would recommend going though!

For 2 people it was about 2 1/2 hour visit. It was very interesting going through a shuttle and plane carrier. Lots of hands on for the kids. The cafe area food is expensive.
