Located in a historic building on the Strand, Riondo's fresh and fairly-priced food, robust cocktails, soft lighting, cosy Mediterranean decor, well-placed tables and excellent sound system make this one of the most enjoyable restaurants in greater Houston. Ideal for couples, the friendly staff also makes children welcome. As appetizers, the tender grilled octopus complemented the antipasto plate, on which were arranged best-quality prosciutto and marinated vegetables. My husband enjoyed an enormous, flavorful osso buco, which we could easily have shared. The same saffron risotto accompanied the octopus, the osso buco, and the duck breast. It was tasty, but winter greens or another veggie side would have lent variety. No parking, but in easy walking distance of many lots.
