Just a quick update for everyone searching for a place to stay around Dallas.
1) Frisco is a high-end suburb of Dallas. This is exactly what we were looking for, but you are about 20 miles (30 min?) away from Dallas downtown. Just heads up.
2) Homewood has full kitchen that includes induction 2-burner. They had a pot, a skillet, silverware, etc. Everything was functional and working
3) Unlike some of the places that use COVID to discontinue any sort of real breakfast, they provided hot breakfast. You would tell the server what you want, and she would get it from the buffet. So, no sharing common utensils. Kudos to Homewood for making it work.
4) On the subject of COVID, everyone was masked up. We saw cleaning staff disinfecting the surfaces in the room next door. We felt safe
5) Good soundproofing. We did not have any problems with noise, etc.
6) Each floor had 2 trash containers, so you can take the food garbage out of your room and drop it there. Again, thank you for making it work. In some other properties, guests just dump their trash on the floor, outside their rooms, inviting pests.
7) No room cleaning, unless you ask for it. Nevertheless, on the first evening, when we got back, we had a plastic bags hanging on the door handle with fresh towels, trash can liner and shampoo/soap. A very small thing, but goes a long way to show that management thinks about how to make hotel work during COVID.
Overall, an excellent choice if you are looking for a full-kitchen hotel in Frisco. If management reads this, please thank your employees for keeping the place clean. Also, if possible, please communicate to Hilton corporate about your guest-friendly practices (hot breakfast, daily towels, large trash cans on every floor, etc.)
