Love The Bedtime Cookies & Milk

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 30 Aug 2013
We love to stay at the Magnolia when we're in Dallas! It's a beautiful hotel and a fantastic family orientated business. Love, love the taste of home with the cookies and milk! What an awesome touch! We've also always enjoyed the breakfast as well. Overall, it's just a wonderful place to get together with family and relax in an amazing enviroment!

Had a reservation issue. Hotel staff referred me to Corporate Reservation Manager (based in Denver) who did not return any of my five calls over 10 days. When I finally spoke to him, after too late to resolve concern because my travel dates passed, he said he did not return my call because he instructed his staff in Dallas to tell me the answer was "no" if I called again. When he told me he did not have authority to resolve my issue, I asked him who did and who his boss was, he stated he did not have a boss. By the way, I was simply trying to change the dates of a "non-refundable" reservation - I was not seeking a refund.

Dear Guest,

I am sorry that we were unable to satisfy your request to waive our non-refundable offer. You should have received a better explanation from our reservations staff. Non-refundable rates are offered for specific dates where we can extend special discounts in return for your commitment to accept the non-refundable terms, which hopefully was made clear to you when you accepted the terms. I am sorry you were unable to take advantage of this opportunity but if you contact me directly I would be happy to look into alternative dates for you.

Regards,

Tom Thomas, General Manager

Recently I stayed one night at this hotel and it was not a good experience. The room was dirty, the bed was rock hard, the pillows were not comfortable, and the toilet ran all night! There was a lot of noise from the street as well as what sounded like running water from the other rooms all night. I had an interview the next day and needless to say I only got 3 hours sleep. When I brought this to the attention of the hotel staff they were unaffected and did not offer me any compensation for my discomfort. I would NOT recommend this hotel for the money! I expected attentive staff, a clean and comfortable room, and fair price. Sad to say, I would not recommend this hotel to any traveler!

Dear Guest,

I sincerely apologize for the experience you had during your recent stay. We take pride in the clean conditions we typically maintain here at the Magnolia Hotel Dallas, and I have reinforced with our housekeeping staff the significance of maintaining consistent standards. At the very least we should have offered to move you to a more comfortable room; we empower our staff to satisfy our guests and we clearly dropped the ball in your case. Thank you for your feedback as it allows me to focus on necessary improvements, and hopefully you will give us a chance to prove that we can deliver a superior experience in the future.

Regards,

Tom Thomas, General Manager

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at the Magnolia. The service was excellent, the staff was courteous and the food and beverages were quite tasty.

The beds were quite comfortable and there were enough pillows.

The second-floor lounge was a pleasant place to share a drink after a long day and a long drive and the breakfast buffet was delicious.

Being my first trip to Dallas, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was unsure of the best location to stay or where to stay. But after deciding on The Magnolia, I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied with my stay!
The room and overall facility were nice and above average, although not over-the-top. I am more concerned with cleanliness, and it was very clean. Clearly the hotel makes it a priority to keep a tidy hotel. Yet, what makes this hotel is its staff! I cannot say enough about how accommodating everyone was during my stay. Though I'm not difficult, I can be high maintenance. This did not seem to bother anyone as each person I encountered was willing to help and was prompt with his/her assistance. Whether it was the custodian getting me a bottle of water because the vending machine was empty or any of the valet guys driving the shuttle, everyone was eager to meet whatever request I had rather than point me in a different direction to go ask someone else.
Still, with everything there are downsides. I only have two complaints: the elevators are VERY slow and sometimes seem to be on the fritz. Also the A/C in the room seemed to only have 2 settings 1) Off and 2) Freezing Cold. No matter how I adjusted the temp, it remained cold.
All in all, The Magnolia Hotel was a wonderful stay and I would certainly recommend it to anyone I know visiting Dallas!

The magnolia hotel is absolutely beautiful. Our room was clean, spacious, and very modern. The hotel staff were courteous and polite too. There were free drinks during happy hour as well as free cookies at night. Yum! We only stayed foe one night but I wish we were able to stay here longer.

There is parking down the street, at city park - the Neaman Marcus parking garage, for $10 max. It doesn't matter how long you stay, one night or all weekend. Much cheaper than the valet. There doesn't seem to be much street parking in the area.

We also asked for a high floor and had an excellent view of Dallas.
