It's nice to climb up to the statue by foot. For example, you can leave your car at the Beyt Shearim parking and do a short trip to A. Zeid's little hill where the staute stands tall overlooking the entire area. Nice views from here towards the Iyzreel valey, Yokneam, Kibbutz Alonim, the Carmel range etc. Mostly recommended on crisp winter or spring days.

Piece of history. The shomer ( guard) Alexander Zaid's family lived on the hill of Sheikh Abreck. Descendants still live in the area. Sheikh's tomb which you can ascend and plent of sabres, ( prickly pears) around. Great lookout on the jezreel valley and the carmel mount. Visit nearby beth shearim too.

It is a lovely small vista point on a small hill and the man on the horse is a local heroe from 70-80 years ago ' who had ride on his horse to protect the lands against terorists and no-man land people, As you will see from my pictures i prefer to get there by my 4X3 toward sunset to take some amazing pictures' and tell my offroads customers the story on a real turkish coffee i am making on the spot and once i finish i try to find the local Winery open for last glass of white wine in TULIP

The statue is on a hill accessible by a very narrow winding road and there's not much there. If you have the time and it's on your way then go but i wouldn't mkae an effort to come here.

On a hilltop overlooking the Jezreel Valley is a bronze statue of Alexander Zaïd on horseback sculpted by David Polus.
Great spot to reflect about history and see great views from top.
Close to Beit Shearim.
