Situated some 3.5 hours from Melbourne, Raymond Island is perfect for those who wish to relax and wake to the sounds of nothing other than beautiful birds.
A short ($11.00 return) ferry ride separates the Island from Paynesville. This maybe the reason there are no vermin visible. Koalas and Kangaroos are in abundance...
Apparently the fishing is wonderful, although I can only brag of catching one 35cm bream.
Dolphins regularly frequent the waterways. We viewed 2 schools on 4 occasions.
Living conditions in this bush retreat are terrific. Everything one would wish to use or need is on available. The few contacts with the owner were always friendly and helpful.
A helpful hint: If travelling in a vehicle from to Paynesville to Raymond Island frequently, it may pay to walk on the ferry, (which is totally free) and have the opportunity to view the many fine local shops.

This house was fantastic. Everything you could want or need, very family friendly and presented beautifully.
Raymond Island is a hidden wonder of Victoria. We had not been there before nor heard of it and we're wonderfully surprised about the beauty of it. Our two children both loved it. The ferry and a playground are a two minute walk from the house and a great beach for the kids to play on two minutes walk in the other direction. Also a huge backyard to run around in. Hardly any roa traffic so don't have to be too worried aboutthe kids on the road. Great place to take bikes. Koalas everywhere, including outside our bedroom window the first morning we were there.
Rachael was very easy to deal with and hospitable to our needs.
Highly recommend this place to
