Really can’t fault our visit to The Cape Kitchen. Delicious food, friendly staff, terrific views. There were several other young families with kids under 5 dining whilst we were there so I would say this place is family friendly. The eggs Florentine were so very tasty, as was the coffee. Highly recommend!

Perfect from start to finish. We booked for a late lunch, I had not realised the menus were different for outside and in. We were offered both menus and a comfy chair so we could mull over the wonderful options. We decided to eat inside and partake of the $60 two course menu. The staff were not at all concerned that I had the entree and main and my husband had the main and desert. Three courses was only another $10, but we didn’t feel we would have done it justice. We were offered and given sharing plates, without asking.
Entre was a good old stand by - salt and pepper calamari - I love this dish, I have had good, bad and indifferent versions. This was one of the best. light and delicate. We were both boring and chose the steak for mains, my husband claims it to be the best steak he has ever eaten. Meltingly tender, and cooked to perfection - rare for me and Med rare for him. Then we shared the most delectable chocolate fondant.
Their own brand wines are not bad, and did I mention the panoramic view of a beautiful seascape. Decor is minimalistic, but why would you try to compete with that view with fussy decor.
Service was efficient, friendly and helpful.

We have had many lunches at The Cape Kitchen with family or friends over several years and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. Our recent visit was a family lunch of five adults who regularly dine at some of the finest restaurants in Melbourne. The general ambience of The Cape Kitchen is warm, relaxed and friendly with the overall presentation being minimalist and smart.
The menu offered a good variety of entrees and mains with seafood, meat, poultry, pasta and vegetarian based meals well covered and everyone found their choice very enjoyable. However the highlight of the lunch were the par excellent deserts that would equal what is offered by the best restaurants in Melbourne. The staff were very friendly and efficient.
The second highlight is the magnificent view looking out over the ocean with waves breaking on the rocks. We could have stayed for hours!!! All family members can't wait to return.

We had the 3 course for $70. And was not disappointed. Fresh mussels in red curry and lemon grass was a stand out. Lots of mussels no skimping. Calamari though small was very tasty. Great Atlantic salmon cooked perfectly. The sauces delicious. Desert was creme Broulee, which was best I have had. Crack of toffee and super creamy custard. Well done to Chef Dalinda. Restaurant Out look was great over looking ocean. Special day for us.
