We enjoyed exploring McKenzie Falls and then taking this short walk down the Fish Falls. They really are beautiful, and I would recommend visiting these after a night or week of rainfall as you'll see the most water flowing. Very pretty!

We decided to walk to McKenzie falls from Zumsteins. This an easy, fairly flat and well maintained path. Fish Falls are about half way, 1.7 km. They are a good introduction to the McKenzie Falls higher up the path. There are good opportunities for viewing the Falls and is a very convenient place to stop. Coming the other way from McKenzie involves descending many steps on the side of a steep gorge and would be very strenuous to have to do climb back up which is very steep and about 0.5 km from the bottom of the Falls to the car park.

Best little swimming hole in the Grampians. When the water is flowing it's a great half hour walk from the car park and you can go on to Mckenzie falls if you feel like it. But this is the place for a dip. A rock to jump in from or just slide in from the edge. The water fall is fantastic to sit under if it's not too heavy. There's a submerged ledge on the other side of the pond to creep around on. Great spot and if there's a few people there it's even better. Not much shade so bring your sunscreen. A must do if your over that way as the trail is very nice to walk as well.

We walked in 2.2km from Zumstiens to this gem of a spot. You can get there via McKenzie Falls...1.2knm from the bottom of the falls. I have been to the Grampians a number of times but have never visited these falls. The walk in and out was flat which makes it a walk most people can do. You are rewarded with a double water fall with relatively low numbers of people there.

We started our walk from the Zumsteins Picnic Area, and followed the Mackenzie River all the way to the base of Fish Falls. Although an easy trail, there were some sections that were embedded with stones, and some metal stairs that give you access to the falls. It is a 2.3km walk to the falls, but if you go during late winter early spring you will not be disappointed with the water flow. It is a amazing site watching the water cascade 60 metres into the river below. Several people were climbing up onto the top of the falls as well as those trying to get a great photograph. The falls were certainly not what we were expecting, and we spent a little time here before walking another 1.4km to the base of Mackenzie Falls.
