You can see the boat and there’s a little shop attached. Worth a visit if you are passing. And it’s a good cause.

We always visit the RNLI shops on our visits to Wales, they do such an important job raising funds for the charity. The shop at Criccieth has plenty of unusual gift items for young and old packed into a small space. The staff are friendly and helpful. You can also look in the boat sheds, there are 2 now as a new one has been built.

It was great to chat with the very helpful gentleman in the shop and to it a few things to help put money into a worthy cause.

Hubby and I were walking around Criccieth on a recent wet and windy Wednesday afternoon when we decided to have a look at the new boathouse. It is far superior to the temporary storage container which was ironically destroyed by the sea storms. The brand new purpose built wooden building was paid for entirely by donations and houses a small inshore rescue boat/trailer and a new 4 X 4 vehicle. The flood boat is a major asset for rescuing people from the tidal estuaries around Tremadog Bay.

We then went into the small Gift Shop opposite and had a friendly chat with a local lady volunteer. Hubby purchased a pin badge for his collection.

For a small resort it is good to see that the life boat is there to serve the community. The adjoining shop is pleasantly served.
