River Inn was a great surprise. Cozy hotel, with nice staff and atmosphere.
Bathrooms are good. My room was too small, but nice and tide.
We check in with Brooke a-payge. A very friendly and helpful person. She made our stay in the hotel special. At the check out, she was there and made everything so easy. At the last minute we needed a car with a driver and in one minute she had everything resolved. She definitely made a different. Congrats for the hotel of having her. The staff are nice. breakfast is good and the flowers are gourges. I was told they were from the owner garden. A great place to stay. Just make sure, if you not traveling alone to ask for a bigger room.

Very quaint setting for hotel. Lovely room with traditional furniture.
Good walking trail across the street.
Recommend the upstairs bar for drinks, food and the view.
Staff mostly friendly. We were there on a Sunday evening so it was quiet.

Just spent a couple of days at this hotel. It's in an upmarket area very close to the town centre. The bedroom had a great view of the Mississippi and was well furnished and comfortable. Being so close to town we ate "out" but the breakfasts were cooked to order and really good.
The staff deserve a special mention. The agency who booked our stay made an error in the booking and as a result the room reserved was unsuitable. The reception manager (who's name I've unfortunately mislaid.. but she had only recently moved to work there) worked with our agents and was creative in finding a solution for us. Another member of the team, Brooke, put together an itinairy for us.. and gave me a tutorial on downloading and using Uber!. Everyone else was friendly and helpful.
The too brief stay in Memphis was great and I hope to visit the town and hotel again someday.

The River Inn is located with a view of the Mississippi river in a complex built in 1989 ( and presumably added on since ). It's ideal for a short stay. We stayed here for our Memphis vacation for 4 nights & this was ideal. The hotel has a restaurant & a Terrace bar/ food area and there is a bar / restaurant across the road ( Tugs ). All of above provide great options with excellent friendly staff. The room we stayed in was excellent - a view of the river , a 4poster bed, a/c that works ( needed in summer ) + an added extra of a small port at your bedside in the evening. The staff at the desk were very friendly & provided much appreciated sight seeing advice. We arranged a city tour as well as a trip to Graceland from the hotel. Thanks Jack !! At one time the bus arrived early & left without us but the hotel staff managed to have another bus arrive within 30 minutes. Much appreciated. If I had to find a complaint it would be that the breakfast choice was either cereal or fry...not both ....which could / should be reviewed I think. A taxi to the Beale Street cost just $8 + tip which is not over expensive. Overall a great hotel for a relaxing time.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the river.

I sought out this quaint little place on Mudd Island in Harbor Town, but close to downtown Memphis. Delightful. Took the advice of other reviewers and got the Admiral Suite (401) Which was conveniently located to coffee every morning outside of the door! A few more steps to ice AND a few more to Terrace( inclosed)-a panoramic view for drinks and small plate offerings! Ours was a one bedroom suite and was quite spacious. Very comfortable but decor along the lines of old European- which might not appeal to the ultra modern crowd. We had windows facing the Old Mississippi with trees and green space along the riverbanks. Harbour Town is a planned community of beautiful “apartment homes”. But it’s very quiet and has many amenities- just no grocery store. On site of this hotel is Paulette’s- fine dining. My husband is still talking about his peppercorned Paulettes beef filet. My redfish was good but not special. Good wine list- nice ambience. We had breakfast delivered to our room one morning and would have had the second morning but the power (24,000 people affected in the area) went out so we went to plan B. We still went down the 4 floors to get their coffee to bring back up- and it was worth the hike! Tug’s-their more casual dining area-is across the street and also great for food and a nitecap. Some of the locals come there by golf cart and it’s fun to converse with them. This “quaintness” comes at a steep price but it was a GREAT GETAWAY‼️- and from the hustle bustle of downtown and Beal Street.
