“Brilliant property for a big group of friends or family”

This is a large property with lots of room for everyone! There's a large well appointed kitchen/dining area, a big comfortable lounge and a games room in addition to the many bedrooms.
Large halls and landings and stairs that are not too steep make this fine for any older folk that stay.
The quality of the whole place is excellent.

The views over Loch Katrine are sublime and can be enjoyed from the large grounds. we found it ideal for the kids who enjoyed running around up and down between the upper and lower garden areas. There is a reasonable sized wall preventing children from falling into the loch so we had no concerns on this front. We all enjoyed watching the boat arrive at the pier although we didn't do the boat trip.

The Pier tearoom is a very short walk away and serves the most amazing bacon rolls. We didn't go there until our last day and wish now that we had gone there more frequently.

For other amenities you have to travel to Aberfoyle which is fine although the road is narrow and should be driven with a good deal of caution.

There are many things to do in the area. Lots of walks, places to visit etc.

I hired the lodge for the week leading up to my wife's 40th birthday and in that time we had friends and family come to stay and everyone enjoyed it immensely.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this property, the owners have taken care to prepare it to a very high standard.

Hired this house for a reunion of long-scattered friends, and couldn't have picked a better spot. Huge house with a kitchen big enough on its own to accommodate a coach party, and the most stunning and peaceful lake and mountain setting. Had a superb weekend and would definitely return, maybe in the season when the ferry is running and the (one narrow) access road is less prone to being rendered impassable by snow....but if you got stranded here would you care about gettng out so long as you'd arrived well provisioned...think not!
