This cottage is in a wonderful location. It is peaceful and a great place as a base to explore the beautiful Trossachs and beyond. The cottage itself has all the amenities that you need, with a lovely garden that backs onto a small loch. It is peaceful and tranquil and frequently visited by the local wildlife.
The owners are helpful and provided some great advice on places to visit. They look after the cottage well. It is a couple of miles from Killin and the Dochart Falls. Killin itself has a lovely Inn which we visited a couple of times and a couple of enjoyable evening meals.
My daughter and I had a wonderful week, with the bonus of perfect weather.
The cottage was fully equipped and in a peaceful rural location, 2 miles from Killin. Red squirrels and deer can be found nearby. The walk into Killin along the old railway track is a must.
We will definitely return in the future.
We booked this as a family party running the Rob Roy Way from Drymen to Pitlochry. The cottage was centrally located for us a couple of miles outside Killin (not walkable) off a quiet private road. A small but well equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare all our own food, the log fire and electric heating kept the cottage very comfortable and we were all able to shower promptly at the end of each day's running. Comfortable beds ensured good rest and the heated entrance porch allowed wet shoes and jackets to dry overnight. The electricity charge for 7 nights was about £20, this included heating, hot water, cooking and the washing machine (the drier wasn't working but as we couldn't tumble dry our running kit anyway this wasn't a problem), on a dry day we were able to hang washing outside. There is a well stocked co-op in Killin good butchers etc in other towns in the area.
