“A beautiful modern cottage in a lovely quiet setting.”
Reviewed 1 October 2018 for a stay in September 2018

This is a beautiful modern cottage in a lovely quiet setting in the hills just above Portree. The view looks down over Portree to the red and black Cuillins in the distance. The accommodation has been tastefully furnished and is of a very high standard. The kitchen has all the facilities you would expect and the beds were very comfortable. The cottage is well-insulated and was warm in September without much heating. We really felt at home here. The owners were very friendly and helpful and were easy to contact if needed. The cottage is within a 30 min walk of Portree village with plenty of shops and restaurants (booking advised) and within a 10 min drive of a large supermarket. We had a wonderful time on Skye and loved the cottage. Many thanks from Sandy & Joan, Ann & Jim

“Superb modern bungalow, great base for exploring Skye”
Reviewed 2 July 2018 for a stay in June 2018

This property has only recently been built, so all the facilities are brand new. Everything has been very well designed, and is to an excellent specification. It really is a home from home. The owners Catriona and Ronald were very helpful, and it is Ronald's photographs which adorn the walls. There are lots of helpful walks, maps and books to help choose what to do, and the wifi and TV were useful as well as the range of DVDs. It is around 5 minutes drive or 40 minutes walk to Portree (but it is a long slog back up the hill). Local taxis are great if you don't want to drive. We ate out in Portree on 5 nights and had a great meal each time. There are 2 local Co-ops in Portree, a small one in the centre and a very large one on the outskirts. There are also 3 petrol/diesel stations in the town. Portree is the ideal base for exploring all of Skye, and we found the driving okay, even on the single track roads where most drivers were very courteous. All in all, we had a great time, even though the weather was chilly and grey, and I would absolutely recommend both Skye, and this property.

“Stunning”
Reviewed 15 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Here is what I would like to say...if we could have stayed in this cottage forever it would not be long enough. Everything was perfect. Little extra touches like two bottles of wine awaiting our arrival and some fresh fruit, milk and coffee and tea. I loved it here. May I purchase it when you are thinking of selling? I have never slept better in my life - perfect beds. We felt incredibly at home and it made our time on Skye precious.

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need - and then some.

The views were breathtaking and pastoral. A quick drive into Portree was easy for our groceries or dinners out. Very accessible for lots of the Skye sites - Old Man of Storr, Quiriang, Fairy Pools ...

I can only hope that when we come back to Scotland your cottage is available. If it isn't, we shall book our trip around its availability.

Respectfully,
Christine
