Cottage as expected from other reviews, pretty tired & really old fashioned. There was a ‘foostie’ smell as you entered the property & we think the downstairs double bedroom was suffering from a bit of damp.
The views very lovey however & it could be a stunning property if upgraded.
The parking was tricky, ok for. 2 small cars but we ended up parking one of our cars in the village - just a lot easier in a tight space on a slope!

Not enough words to describe a brilliant location and stay
The cottage is set in a great location and provides the perfect base to explore. Moyle Cottage itself is "old world" meets new world, it does not require the sophistication of modern decor and trappings to give a homely welcoming experience. The views over Kyleakin are constantly changing with activity and yes, the weather too. Too much of a good review will encourage too many others and probably end up them booking dates I may want. Suffice to say happy to give 5***** for my stay.... try it and watch the stars yourself!!!

Excellent location
This cottage is in a wonderful location just a few minutes from the Skye Bridge and overlooking the little harbour at Kyleakin. There's always something happening in the harbour, from fishing boats going back and forth at high tide, to birdlife feeding at low tide, and all this can be seen from inside the cottage. The interior is comfortable enough if a bit shabby in places, and I would say maybe in need of a bit of an upgrade, but this didn't spoil our holiday. Log burner was difficult to get going and keep going but the house was cosy, so not really needed. We found the double bed upstairs to be very comfortable and the bath is an absolute joy, great for a long soak after a day out walking, with a plentiful supply of hot water. The shower is excellent too.( I think these facilities may have been upgraded since older reviews were written as we had no problems ) There was hardly anything open when we were in the village due to Covid restrictions but I imagine under normal circumstances it would be a bit more lively ( and we were there in November!) There is a bus stop in the village if you want to go up to Portree or Uig. If doing so, be aware that the bus stops across the road from the actual bus shelter and they expect you to cross the road to get on. We were waiting in the bus shelter as it was pouring rain, and expected the bus to pull over to let us in, but it didn't and drove off without us !! Lots of lovely walks in the area, a few without getting into the car and there is a large supermarket in Kyle of Lochalsh, back across the bridge, or another at Broadford if you need supplies. The cottage is surrounded by a nice wee garden with a picnic table but we used neither given the time of year. Parking space is quite compact and takes a bit of manoeuvring to get into. Would happily recommend and would also be happy to return. Took off one star because of minor upgrading required ( freezer door broken and slight cleanliness issues) uncomfortable sofas and guest information requiring updating. Sue, the owner, was very helpful and friendly to deal with.

Lovely Views
This property had plenty of space, was well equipped, had great views over the harbour and surrounding area. It was very covid19 safe, comfortable and quiet. It has a downstairs bedroom as well as upstairs bedrooms. Parking was immediately outside the property gate.
The location was very near Skye Bridge so was ideal for exploring Skye as well as the mainland.
I would definitely stay here again or any of the properties managed by Sue. I'd recommend it for any family groups of up to 5 people.

Comfy Cottage
A well equipped cottage with plenty of space although perhaps not if there were 5 of of you. It has lovely views over the village and to the Skye Bridge. Castle Moyle is a stroll away and Skye Sea Foods (at the bridge roundabout) serves great fresh fish and fish and chips cooked on demand. At this time of year the garden didn't get much sunlight but it would be delightful on a summer evening. Recommended.

A Great Location
This is a wonderful cottage in a beautiful location, the pictures on the website do not do it justice. It is a perfect home from home with great views of the harbour and surrounding area. Even better from the bathroom.
Ideal location to explore the whole of Skye and large parts of the west coast of Scotland, you can also get the train from Kyle to Inverness a great scenic 2 hour ride through the Scottish highlands.
Would highly recommend and would definately come back again.

Great location, good value
You are literally perched on top of the working harbour of Kyleakin. Fishing, tourist and pleasure boats are coming and going outside your window. House was just as described. Shopping in Kyle of Lochalsh has all your needs (big Coop), Seafood Shack sells great local fish and shellfish (watched the owner buy from the boats many mornings) and the King Haakon pub has good food and great entertainment. Day trips up and around Skye are a breeze.
North Americans (like me) should be aware that hot water management is an art form. Don't expect a hot tub after laundry and using the dishwasher - that's just the way things are - not a complaint.
I would suggest that a change be made with towels. I was by myself and got one thin bath towel for the week. It literally looked like it was more at home in a homeless shelter. An investment in new stock would make a much better first impression.
I'd go back to this spot in an instant.

Excellent cottage, home from home.
An unusually beautiful setting, the house is very comfortable and well appointed.
Two small points, no axe to chop kindling and the upstairs sink and bath drain at the same rate as the ebb tide. ☺

Thank you James...so pleased you found the cottage comfortable and enjoyed the location. The sink and bath just needed a drop of drain unblocker pouring down and all is now well...no more ebb tide!!

Lovely situation
Very well equipped cottage in a very peaceful location with beautiful views across the harbour......
Only criticism were that cleaners hadn't been very thorough as empty juice bottle under sofa and dirty sock at bottom of stairs!
