“A delightful holiday cottage”
Reviewed 3 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Just had a lovely week here.
The Anchorage is a lovely cottage with the most stunning views over the water, hence we spent a lot of time in the sun room, watching boats/ ships travelling up and down
The cottage is very well equipped and the aga keeps everything cosy, yes I know it was July but hey it's Scotland!
Nice to be able to walk to local pubs/restaurants, all of those we tried were fine
Skye is a beautiful island and the anchorage is an ideal base from which to explore it.
Booking was easy and the comprehensive details about the property were a boon
Highly recommended

“Beautiful view and perfect location.”
Reviewed 28 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We just got back from a week at the Anchorage. It was perfect for us. We went from the top of Skye to Locharron area and it was very convenient. Local restaurants and pubs to walk to. Either Kyle of Lochalsh right over the bridge or Broadford in the opposite direction have co-ops for groceries, shops and petrol. (Broadford's station is 24 hour). First time using an Aga and we loved it. The view from the big windows in the kitchen, sun room and all top floor rooms is beautiful. See the fishing boats leave in the morning and watch sunset at night. Great place. * A small car for the parking spot would be advised.

“Truly relaxing with stunning views”
Reviewed 17 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Just returned from a memorable holiday in Skye. The was our first visit to Skye and we were delighted to arrive at The Anchorage. The house is located in a peaceful spot which is also central to explore Skye and over the bridge to Kyle of Lochalsh and the beautiful village of Plockton. Unlike more remote areas, we were able to go for an evening walk and were close enough to walk over the Skye Bridge.
The house was extremely comfortable and felt homely with everything and more you could possibly need. First time using the Aga - think we have to get one now. Everything was just perfect but what set it apart from other holiday homes was the stunning views.
Recommend a visit to the fantastic Isle of Skye Candles in Broadford which allowed us to bring back some happy memories from our holiday.

“A welcoming home of comfort, style and complete tranquility, with views to keep everyone happy."”

Our wish to holiday in Skye was complemented by the wonderful and efficient service accompanying our booking, along with the owner's tips and guidelines to the their home and the Isle itself. We arrived at The Anchorage after a picturesque journey travelling up the West Coast and through the snow covered peaks towering above the many Lochs that are dotted along the way.

We found our haven easily, using the instructions and found ourselves in a modern, light, spacious and comfortable Home from Home which was warm and welcoming. Beautifully equipped throughout we settled in very quickly and eagerly awaited our first full day of exploring. The Anchorage gave the family (three generations, the youngest nearly 3) plenty of room to find the peace or excitement we chose, at any time during our stay. The comfortable sun room, with uninterrupted views out to the Skye Bridge and beyond delighted us all. The same views could be enjoyed from the bedrooms and the bathroom and if you were busy in the kitchen, then you had to remind yourself why you were there!

We had the most amazing weather throughout our stay and as we were visiting before the main School holiday period, we had the roads and the views to ourselves too. We literally travelled the length and breadth and even the diagonals of Skye, enjoying roads and views that no photograph could justify. White tailed sea Eagles guided us along some of the more remote areas. Seeing the well camouflaged deer tucked in amongst the brown background of the hills and forests allowed us to imagine the change in colour as the Heather becomes purple and the bracken, green. Water ever present wherever we drove reminded us of the beauty and allure of this great place. More than that, we saw the islands beyond Skye, giving us every reason to return and take the various boat trips to the outer Isles. We enjoyed good, tasty food at various inns or Hotels during our stay and could buy fresh provisions whenever we wished, either from the co-op across the bridge or one which was a couple of miles north of the cottage. Wherever we went, we were greeted warmly.

We enjoyed everything about our stay, including the Eclipse and the only sad part, was having to leave our 'Holiday Home'.

Do go, you will not be disappointed with the experience!

We've stayed in Skye a few times and The anchorage is the best by far. Beautifully decorated, heaps of space and so relaxing, we spent most evenings in.
The views are incredible from all the rooms and the cottage always felt warm and homely.
Booking was simple and Richard, so friendly, helpful and kind.
