“A simply great location”
Reviewed 20 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We are a retired couple on holiday from Australia. This was a wonderful place for us to spend a week. The apartment itself was exactly as described. Its location was excellent, with many, many attractions located nearby.

We explored Bridge of Allan – very interesting. Visited nearby Stirling and Dunblane – so much history. And took trips to Glasgow and Perth as well as visiting The Kelpies. We ran out of time before we ran out of things to do! Would happily return to see more and stay again at Allanvale Apartment.

“Good base for a holiday in a lovely town”
Reviewed 31 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Allanvale Apartment is in Bridge of Allan which is just north of Stirling. This was a good location for our holiday. The apartment is at the end of a street so there is no through traffic. It is opposite a bar but the noise from it, or from people outside it, does not disturb and it seems more popular at the weekend. Bridge of Allan has some nice places to eat - we tried the Allanwater Cafe fish and chips which were fantastic; we also went to the Westerton Arms for a lovely pub meal. For real ale lovers, the Allanwater Brewhouse has a good range of ales available (try the beer tapas to find your favourite).
The apartment is just 10 minutes from the railway station and there are a good number of trains each day taking us all over, so the car stayed outside the apartment all week. We went by train to Dunblane, Stirling, Helensbrough, Glasgow, Falkirk and Edinburgh. We even got to the Falkirk Wheel by taking the train to Camelon and walking to the Wheel, and then taking the bus to visit the Kelpies.
The apartment itself was cosy and well equipped, including a dishwasher, washing machine and drier. The kitchen and living room are open plan, with the bathroom and bedroom behind it to the rear of the apartment. The tiled front porch is great for securely hanging coats and storing outdoor boots/shoes. A great base for a wonderful week in Scotland.

“Very small but central to a lovely high street, needed cleaning though”
Reviewed 2 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Small flat, nicely set out however shower door did not close as hinge was broken, this was for entire week, reported it and handyman dispatched promptly but despite waiting in for him two days in a row, no hinge could be found so no shower.
Mould on wall of cupboard door, handyman cleaned it with bleach which to be honest even I could have done but this did not address the issue and it came right back.
Light bulbs! there appears to be an expectation that the guest will replace these with some left in the cupboard, however it is high up, not safe to climb on a chair and do it and handyman left to get ladder and did not return, so light was minimal in flat.
Work underway in road right outside flat so drilling and roadworks through all of stay from 08h00 until 16h00
Stove top was so dirty had to go out and purchase cleaning equipment to clean it before using it.
Bed had foam wedge on top of base and mattress which might have been an improvised mattress topper but no ability to circulate air while sleeping so smelled a bit bad, sheets did not fit properly so kept bunching up on bed.
Sky TV is not as advertised, it is just regional tv.
With some maintenance and care it could be a lovely little spot for no more than two people although advertised for three, no way would three fit comfortably and sofa bed is the most uncomfortable couch ever experienced so dont want to think about it on as a bed.

“Comfortable, accessible and convenient”
Reviewed 21 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We found the apartment had everything we required for our four nights. Had an excellent response from the owner when we required help with the washing machine. It was both comfortable and warm. We enjoyed fish and chips and icecream from the Allan water restaurant across the road.. Great access for day trips further north and easy drive to Edinburgh airport when we left.

“Great Location & Pleasant Village”
Reviewed 1 October 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The location was good to travel around Scotland from and it was close to the Stirling University. The management company and the owner were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this place.
