We booked this accommodation for our October break. We have been booking various breaks similar to this for the past 20 years. This was the most expensive cottage to date and having read the reviews we expected so much more.
Tracy the housekeeper was lovely and the setting so close to Gleneagles Hotel is a huge positive.
In our opinion, the accommodation was tired and far from luxury. There were water stains in the ceiling, a blind remained permanently down because it was broken, the oven was missing pieces and did not work properly and there were other problems with the hob and microwave. We gave up cooking the food we brought.
The DVD player did not work and sky is the most basic package. We received 5% back because of the problems having suggested a 10% refund.
Light bulbs were not working and we had to replace batteries in the remote control. We have stayed in amazing properties for less.
You’ll have a good stay in an excellent location but don’t expect five star accommodation or luxury. Disappointing that all these faults were not corrected other than a repair to the hot water tap . It’s understandable that problems may occur from time to time but the impression we had was that the owner has been made aware of these difficulties previously and nothing has been done to remedy them.
Had a great time here with my friends. House was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
Just a couple of minutes walk to the hotel
Only one slight negative was running out of toilet paper!
Would highly recommend
We had a family gathering to celebrate a 60th birthday. The location was ideal for people travelling from various parts of Scotland. The house has plenty of space for 10 adults and 2 dogs. It did not feel at all crowded. With 4 bath/shower rooms there was no queuing. It was spotlessly clean on arrival. The kitchen was well equipped and feeding everyone was not difficult. We enjoyed sitting in the outside space. The beds were very comfortable. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby. A great place for a break - short or long. Very much enjoyed and highly recommended.
Lovely spacious house in an unbeatable 5* location.
Everything you need in this home for an enjoyable & comfortable stay. Spotlessly clean & very good value.
Lovely welcome pack on arrival.
We were a party of 4 couples & would definitely revisit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and made good use of the barbecue provided too. It's so close to the hotel and has some beautiful walks just outside the door. We had my 84-year-old mother with us and were worried she'd be crowded out but the layout was perfect, with gathering places and little quiet spots too. I suspect we'll be back!
