Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable.
Hotel manager welcomed us and made sure we were well catered for.
Dining room staff were excellent.
We were with a large party to look after and we were all pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms.

The hotel is well situated with good parking. Our room on the first floor was clean and spacious. The food was excellent with a good choice at both breakfast and dinner. Unfortunately the weather was disappointing so we had a snack on the Sunday which again was excellent. The staff were pleasant, helpful and had a good sense of humour which is always a bonus. If we ever have another stay in Largs it will definitely be at the Willowbank.

Room Tip: There is no lift at this hotel but they have rooms on the ground floor.

Following good reports from friends of ours we decided to visit the hotel on a 5 day coach holiday. The hotel is small and friendly, the rooms are a little dated, it does not have a lift, the car park is a decent size. There are two lounges, one of which is also the bar. A good size dining room, behind which is a concert room with a dance floor. I would expect the hotel would be ideal for celebrations, weddings etc.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk, along the promenade to Largs, 5 minutes coming back with the wind behind you. There is a adequate local bus service, but remember the English Concessionary Travel Passes are not valid
On our coach holiday the meals were sparse as mentioned in other reviews, three items for a cooked breakfast!!!!!!. However there is toast and bread buns to start the day off well. The evening meal would have two boiled potatoes, one roaster with two types vegetables.
All of the staff are good natured, friendly and polite. Some with the same sense of humour as my self.
I think we will return but go privately.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 night, breakfast and dinner. Food was standard. Breakfast was brought to you at table. Not much offered from the cooked breakfast. First morning small link, egg and bacon.second morning they took link of the menu and gave option of beans. The building is not really disable friendly no lifts and steps to access front door. Need to ensure you book room downstairs when booking if you can't do stairs. Toilet was small couldn't get in shower cause you need to climb in bath. Needs some updating. Staff were very nice and attentive. I wouldn't pay the asking price for room and breakfast however paying less through the tour company was fine. Would go back but not go out my way to book it.

We stayed for four nights last week on a David Urquhart coach trip to visit the tattoo at Edinburgh.
The hotel staff are very welcoming and helpful especially Wilma. The hotel’s decor is;dated but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was tired and our shower was very hit and miss. Scalding or freezing although the one in our friends room was ok. The breakfasts and dinner were good although coffee not brilliant. The hotel is well situated and an easy walk to the promenade and into town. The trip altogether was good value for money.
