Visited the Old Inn for a wedding anniversary , I pre-ordered champagne for our room and we had only just got to our room when it was delivered. The room was period-charming but with modern lighting, bathroom etc. The restaurant is excellent both for evening dining and breakfast.
This is a very cosy, welcoming hotel - lots of open fires, nooks and crannies with welcoming, professional and friendly staff.
The owner is on site, chatting with customers and very much adding to the welcoming atmosphere.

Room tip: Beautiful individual rooms

We visited The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn this evening for a meal. We could not fault the service. Our waiter showed us to our table and our drinks order was taken. So far so good. Our food order was placed and food arrived in a reasonable time. Crispy chilli chicken -served in a bowl - was far from a generous portion and was served on a thick bed of mixed leaves. Chicken to lettuce ratio not good.
Elderflower Parfait dessert was served on a huge plate dotted with a couple of rock hard meringue stars and smeared with jus of indeterminate flavour. It wasn’t awful but it certainly had no WoW factor.
We had hoped for something special but, apart from excellent service, the meal was unremarkable and pricey.

Our daughter got married last week and what a lovely day! The groom was from England so a lot of the guests were English and we wanted to show some good old Northern Irish hospitaliy. This was certainly achieved from the welcoming staff who served the Guinness ,prosecco ,tea , coffee and scones .The rooms in which these were served were beautiful with a lovely fire lit and Windows overlooking the garden.
The actual meal was delicious and so many people remarked on this to us . Sean the manager could not have been more helpful and asked us several times throughout the day if everything was ok.
The setting up of the band all went very smoothly with all the guests moving upstairs for a short time before moving back down and dancing the night away. Supper was served again delicious sandwiches and nibbles and then off to a very comfortable night sleep in a very luxurious room !
Breakfast was delicious with a great choice of food and again very helpful and friendly staff.
All in all a really lovely day and brought memories back of my our own wedding day 30 years ago in the same place.

I visited here sunday two weeks back for my mother in law's surprise 70th birthday, I had been here many a time (including a wedding) as i live only 5 minutes away, we never had any issues, this time however they really pulled out all the stops.

We arrived into a private room and over 20 of us were seated in a square shaped table, there was enough room for us to move around comfortably (ideal given I have a young baby boy who needs to travel with all sorts of stuff including his buggy among other things).

We were welcomed into the room and several staff were appointed to us.

I had vegetable soup, then turkey and ham followed by cheesecake.

The meal was superb, everything ran so well, the staff couldnt do enough for us, they were very friendly, and waited hand on foot for us, we were treated like royalty.

the main course was particularly lovely and we had huge huge portions of potatos, roasties and veg, the staff were always on hand for everything and everyone of us was blown away by the day and the service we got.

I know a member of my family is planning on writing a letter to say so, we absolutely loved everything about it.

I cannot compliment the staff enough for the work, effort and professional manner they carried out their work in a very friendly way.

They couldnt do enough for us and the food was amazing as it usually always is.

A wonderful afternoon. thank you all once again.
