Stayed at the very comfortable and well equipped cottage for a week using Chideock as a good centre and the buses to walk sections of coast path from Seaton to Weymouth . Jane and Laurie looked after us very well on arrival and we enjoyed the welcoming basket of food. Then their friends , Gloria and Alan ,were very helpful with our plans ---we are very grateful ! Enjoyed the week very much --the weather was sunny and hot all week so we appreciated the lovely coolness of the lounge on return.
Well equipped cottage in a good location. Selection of provisions provided on arrival which is a nice touch. Comfortably furnished, the only downside being no heating in the bathroom, a bit chilly at this time of year. Jane and Laurie are excellent hosts who are happy to suggest local hostelries and attractions. Just need to stay in Chiddy Nook now to achieve the full set!
Home from home feel to cottage. The gingerbread biscuits on arrival was a lovely touch, plus fresh eggs, bread & butter was greatly appreciated. Visited both The George pub in village and The Anchor on the beach at Seatown food at both was excellent. Location of cottage for visting surrounding area was ideal. Can recommend Old Harry's Rock coastal walk breathtaking scenery, the village of Beer and tramway at Seaton. Will be back as soon as possible.
This was my second ever visit to Chideok, I was a bit sceptical as the place I stayed the first time was awful. I could not have been more wrong, we were recommended this venue by a friend who also stayed there recently! A very quaint cottage with great decor and a real homely feel, a home from home would be a great phrase to use. The owners could not have been any more welcoming and friendly, the village itself is gorgeous. We have already rebooked for later in the year.
