“Awesome”
Reviewed 10 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This rental property is the best well equipped property and cleanest property we have ever stayed in. Attention to detail in this property is spot on. Perfect place to stay, we loved every minute of it.

“Perfect place to get away from it all!”
Reviewed 22 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The interior of No 11 never fails to delight - especially when you arrive on a dreary February day to a beautifully bright and warm comfortable space with plenty of room for 3 adults, 2 dogs and all the baggage that goes with that. The place was spotless and it's clear that a lot of attention is paid to practicality - we didn't want for anything.

No 11 is perfect for couples, families, older folks (no steps), anyone in fact who wants a high quality break away from it all. It's situated at the end of a very narrow lane just a minute's walk from the stunning beach - yet just a few miles from Bridport, West Bay and Burton Bradstock. Everything you could want is within easy reach, yet you have a sense of isolation which you normally only find out in the wilds of Scotland or Wales. I dare say at the height of summer things are a little different but for most of the year I expect this holds true.

Book. You won't regret it.

(I previously reviewed No 11 following a short break in November 2015 and experienced a few minor issues, and since returned for a week to test the owner's assertion that my previous problems were a one-off. I'm delighted to confirm that she was right! I'd happily stay here again, and in fact I am planning an autumn break as I write this...)

“Could be lovely with a little more attention to cleaning”

First the good. A lovely building much bigger than the photos suggest, nicely fitted out inside and set in a fantastic location. A shack it is not. On arrival late on a wet and windy night the initial reaction was "Wow!". Well equipped kitchen, plenty of space to relax, reasonable WiFi speed considering the location, half-decent TV. Perfect for a weekend break.

Unfortunately the attention to cleaning detail let the place down somewhat. The master bed really did look as though someone had just crawled out of it. Pulling back the duvet revealed a stained pube-ridden and creased sheet. It smelled OK but we didn't want to take a chance, so after rummaging through the wardrobes and cupboards in search of clean bedding, unsuccessfully, we remembered we'd seen a late-night Morrisons store a few miles away and set off to buy a new duvet cover and sheet to use before they closed. On removing the original sheet the mattress protector underneath was covered in sand.

Once this was sorted and we'd begun to unpack we noticed the bathroom was also in a mess. Damp towels hanging haphazardly on the radiator, the shower tray plughole bunged up with hairs and urine splashes under the toilet seat ... yuk. Luckily there were spare towels in a cupboard so the damp ones were added to the heap of bedding in front of the washing machine which already had damp dirty cloths inside it. A bottle of bleach spray and some elbow grease later and we felt we could use the bathroom.

Other rooms were perfectly fine - it was a bit odd really that this issue affected just two rooms.

As we were only staying a few days, had had a particularly stressful journey and it being quite late, we chose not to take issue with the owner at the time (although a mobile number had been left for us to use in case of a problem). We just wanted to get to bed and enjoy our precious time away from difficult times at home.

After the initial frustration caused by the state of the place, we soon saw the funny side and enjoyed our time away.

Management Response
20 Nov 2015
Thank you for your review which in the circumstances was pretty good considering what you found on your arrival. There was a mix up with dates and the cleaning schedule hence no cleaning before your arrival was undertaken which is totally unacceptable. I would have been more than happy for a call at what ever time of night it was but appreciate your just wanting to sleep. I have taken steps to make sure this never happens to a client again and I hope you have got my message with my offer to recompense you for this awful situation. You are truly amazing to have seen the funny side of this. Thank you.

“A hidden gem.”

As described a lovely holiday home only minutes from the sea infact you can hear it when you sleep. The area is quite breathtaking in the early morning sunlight and the sunsets spectacular. Location is perfect for trips out and there are many great places to eat out. Try the New inn just up the road and the hotel both except dogs with there owners. A little further up the road at symondsbury is quaint.
The chalet it's self is well equipped, kitchen spacious as is the bathroom, the shower space is great but the shower pressure could be better.
The sofas are a little on the low side for disabled people but the king size bed is wonderful.
We had to contact the owner, who was very courteous and friendly and offered to visit. This was uneccessary but we were impressed with her speedy reply.
Having a picnic on the beach was a highlight. 1 week wasn't long enough.

“Lovely Chalet and Location”
Reviewed 20 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Lovely, spacious, modern, nautical themed chalet with beautiful views and in a lovely secluded position. Ideal for walking/hiking.

The chalet was equipped with everything you needed, even a fishing rod and binoculars!

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go again.
