There are few hotels that make you feel like a long lost member of the family, but that's how I felt when arriving at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were kind and helpful, interested and interesting, and I never wanted to leave. The food was delicious and the service was great.
While there was no wifi in my ground floor room, this actually propelled me out into the cozy common room where there is solid Internet access. I sat on the squishy, soft couches in front of the fire, drinking coffee and eating fresh buttered bread, a lovely and unexpected treat made for me by the lovely lady at reception. I guess I looked a little worn down by a long day of driving down from Connemara, and in need of revitalizing. And, by the time I was ready for sleep, my bed was nice and toasty because the staff had turned on my electric blanket for me.
As I understand it, Cashel is on the quieter side of this peninsula and, for those who value that attribute, this hotel will be a huge treat. It seems to attract like-minded souls and the other guests that I met briefly were similarly quiet yet friendly.More
