Wow wow wow, what a fantastic apartment, the view is amazing, Valerie the owner is lovely and the accommodation first class.
Would highly recommend
Stay was great. Within walking distance to all restaurants and site seeing around town. Valerie was an excellent resource for any questions we had. There is also a nice place to park.
Thanks to the large windows set into the slanted ceiling and the ample floor space under the eaves, this flat offers lots of light, a lovely sea view and plenty of room to move around and stash luggage. The place is attractively decorated in seaside blue and lemon yellow, and the only sounds are the waves and the seagulls. Valerie, our hostess and a Skerries native, lives downstairs and was quick to answer questions and accommodate our requests for a couple of items (a serving spoon, an extension cord for our laptop).
Skerries itself is quiet and laid-back, and you can catch a commuter train from there to downtown Dublin. One of its main advantages is that it is only 30 minutes from Dublin's International Airport -- closer than Dublin itself! That proximity, combined with the comfort and pretty setting of this flat, plus the convenience to a number of Medieval and Neolithic sites, would make this an ideal spot to begin a trip to Ireland.
