Great deep lake that is fun to explore and is usually not as crowded with boats, as most! The fishing can be good at times, too!

Awesome paddleboarding on the lake. It was quiet and lots of ducks, and geese, plus a beautiful sunset. Parking is easy and everything was clean. Plenty of picnic tables.

We've seen a lot of lakes in the TN, VA, NC area, and this one is our favorite. Majority of views have no buildings at all on the opposite shore. Very unspoiled area. And the fall foliage in 2017, at the end of October, was just stunning.

The lake itself is gorgeous and the surrounding landscape is just breath-taking. We were so happily surprised by the nature, views and photo-ops here. We went just as the leaves were beginning to change and it is truly unforgettable. The only issue is there were not any trails that we could walk. We did walk along the shore for a bit but a trail would have been ideal.
