“A great experience”
Reviewed 27 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

A lovely first visit to a new part of Scotland for us. Lots to do in terms of visiting historical sites, walks, watching wildlife and fantastic beaches. Somewhat limited if you are interested in shopping or eating out when accompanied by a dog. Weather was better than the BBC forecast. We expected more midges, but the constant breeze's meant that we only noticed then for an hour or so out of a whole week

“Retreat on Lewis”
Reviewed 19 May 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Outstanding retreat on the Isle of Lewis. We extended our stay because the setting and cottage were so good. The owner was attentive and hospitable. Set on a former croft with Greylag Geese and sheep as our neighbours, this cottage offers the perfect antidote to the hectic life in a big city, or any city for that matter. We loved Lewis so much we didn't bother with Harris!

“Weekend break”
Reviewed 22 January 2016 for a stay in November 2015

This cottage is lovely. The setting is gorgeous, one of the nicest parts of the Isle of Lewis. The accommodation is extremely well equipped and it is warm and cosy. The owners are lovely people who didn't even mind when I broke their kettle...sorry about that!!!
Would recommend it!

Everything we could have wanted and more. Comfortable, warm , and very well equipped bungalow with fabulous surrounding land for dog to roam. Views of the Northern Lights from kitchen window if you are lucky ( we were!).. Very friendly and helpful owner and neighbours, easily contactable if needed. Lovely welcome pack on arrival and fresh eggs from neighbour. Local shop 5 mins drive, approx 45 mins drive to Stornaway, 90 mins from Tarbet. Superb location for easy exploring of both Lewis and Harris by car.

We had a very enjoyable week here in September and would have loved to stay longer. The cottage is clean, well furnished and warm. The twin room enjoys the morning sunshine. Great Bernera is a lovely island with the post office, community centre and church an easy stroll away. Bosta beach is a longer walk or short car journey but worth a visit. Great sunbathing overlooking Loch Roag and the hills beyond from the croft.
Calum was very helpful and we enjoyed the welcome pack of goodies.
