We were pleased with the room, Lobby, pool, breakfast choices and proximity to town center in Rapid City. This was our first two day stay on our coach trip to the National Parks. We ate twice at the Hotel Restaurants becasue we were too tired to try a downtown restaurents. THe food was OK. Some guests complainted about noise due to a wedding held at Hotel during our stay. We were on the 4th floor were fine. THe staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Room on higher floor. Nice view of atrium

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of our SD trip. It is located a short walk from the town centre and local restaurants. An easy 7/8 minute walk will get you there.
Check-in was very efficient and friendly with no wait. We had arrived early in the morning prior to our room being available but they kept our bags for us.
Room - a corner suite on the 6th floor (an upgrade). It was very spacious, super clean and lovely and quiet. The bed was so comfortable with lovely linen and pillows. The air conditioning was very efficient and lovely and quiet. The bathroom had a bath with additionally an over-bath shower. A good supply of shampoo, conditioner and soap provided. The room had complimentary tea/coffee making facilities together with a microwave and a fridge. Bottled water was provided but care as this is charged at $3 per bottle - disappointing. There was no in-room safe.
Wi-Fi - free and with a great signal.
Leisure facilities - used the pool and spa and both are excellent. Towels are available poolside but there are no shower or changing facilities. Each occasion we were there we were the only ones in. There is also a sauna and a small gym available.
Dining - we had breakfast and for over 55s it cost just under $10 including tax for the buffet. Excellent value as it had everything we needed - coffee/tea, orange juice, yoghurts, pastries and all the usual cooked items plus an omelette station. Only negative is that on 2 of the mornings I had to ask for a fresh coffee cup as each had lipstick left on it - a problem in the kitchen cleaning area.
We ate out each evening with our favourites being Delmonico Grill and the Kathmandu Bistro. Both at the opposite ends of the price range but both excellent.
Parking - they advertise a $5 per day charge but didn't charge us. However, you can park a few yards away on the convention centre car park for free.
Staff - were very good and so friendly. Especially young man at reception.
Would recommend a stay here.

Airy 8 floor atrium, updated lobby, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave, large wall of windows. Extra light in bathroom as night light. Smooth sheets, no scent in room, but one desk staff with potent perfume scent. Quiet area a short drive to downtown. Room doors could use tiny door frame cushions to dampen noise and rattle of slammed doors. I would return here.

We were traveling with a group of 20 folks and we still had great service-especially by the server in the dining area (her upbeat attitude was contagious)! Our food was good and there were plenty of options. The hotel is conveniently located for exploring the downtown area...and I highly recommend you do. One of the meeting rooms we used was very cold..so that would be the only issue we had! We really enjoyed our shuttle driver and we got to the airport with plenty of time to check in! It was a good place to start and end our trip to the Badlands!

Second night of our summer vacation with my family of 5.

The hotel footprint is fairly large which leaves the impression that it should be downtown in a large city which it is not, this is something we appreciated. Check in was pleasant and the staff was very friendly. We used our points for this stay, one night.

The room was large and accommodating, it looked fairly new and was more than comfortable for us. We used the pool and while it was crowded, our kids enjoyed swimming after a long day of being on the road.

Restaurants are not super close, takes 5 minutes up the hill to get to where most of the action is so not a big deal.

It was close to the road that leads up to Mount Rushmore which we really liked as we went there before we checked in.

There is no complimentary breakfast so we drove 5 minutes to the Safeway and ate in the room the morning after.

Check out was smooth and uneventful, I gave it a 5/5 as it met all of our expectations and was the cleanest room we had during our 2 week holiday.

Thank you Holiday Inn Rapid City!
