I'm sure this place is at its best when you can sit outside overlooking the ICW. We went on a cold, rainy Monday in April at 5 PM. Guess what - it was almost full. Very good Calabash style fried seafood and very friendly and efficient service. Nothing fancy about the table settings, just good food. I think the crowd were mostly local residents and that is usually the best indicator of quality.

We sat on the deck and had a great meal of shrimp and oysters, and great service. It was a beautiful night and a great meal. Thanks!

We went on a nice dolphin watching cruise and this place was suggested. We were not disappointed. Our server was awesome and the food was great. Must try is the fried corn! The grouper and the oysters were excellent. And what is nicer they have plenty of parking in a private parking area right by the restaurant and the view of the water is supurb to enjoy while you eat and chat.

We have dined at Crab Catchers many times in the past. It's not always clean, the service is often slow, but it's a fun place to go and the oyster roasts have always been a highlight. We stopped in for dinner last Wednesday (4/18/18). Unfortunately, the local oyster roasts are done for the season. The first sign that something was awry was that there was no one to greet & seat incoming customers. Three groups were wandering around looking for a host/hostess. When we did get seated, our table (and 2 or 4 chairs) were very dirty with remnants of previous meals stuck to them. Neither the hostess nor our waiter ever made any attempt to clean them. Both the hostess and the waiter asked if we wanted water, which we did, but never delivered. The waiter finally delivered water after 3 trips to the table without it. I ordered the "Oyster Cocktail" (12 raw oysters), thinking it would be "fresh" oysters on the half-shell. However, when it was delivered, it was 12 canned oysters on a plastic platter that was barely chilled. Anyone who knows oysters knows they have to be stored and served COLD. We also ordered the fried blue crab bits as an appetizer, which was very hard to distinguish from fried fish bites and contained a lot of fried batter with nothing inside. I then ordered steamed little neck clams. They were SO little that the entire 1-lb serving fit into one small plastic ramekin of butter. The only decent part of the meal was the fried oysters that my wife ordered. We probably won't return until they have the fresh local oyster roasts again in the Fall, if then.

We have been visiting Crab Catchers for a few years and just returned. They still remember us after 2 years away. We specifically come for the crab legs and have been known to wait for hours drinking beer before the specials come on. Crab to die for! Tremendous location on the waterway. Everybody wants to be your friend and you can while away the time endlessly. Would strongly recommend.
