First of all the menu listed on The TripAdvisor site is an old one, so go to the website of the restaurant for a more updated version.
Located in downtown Greer, South Carolina , Rivera’s is in a rustic series of businesses that probably date back to the early 20th century if not before. All brick interior and cozy we were seated in the bar area at a round top table for four. ( Reservations are recommended on the weekends; opening at 5:00pm).
The menu is sufficient with the flare of a little Cuban flavor and style. Beverages were ordered; no draft or craft beers but a few IPA bottles and basic domestic and imports and full liquor drinks are available.
We ordered two appetizers, grilled tomatoes with goat cheese and the fried plantains. Both were delicious.
Entrees ordered with Pork loin with mashed potatoes and seasoned green beans (too much seasoning , but ok), firecracker Shrimp, petite Filet, and a Cuban style grilled chicken dish.
Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the service was great.
Leslie took great care of us and her knowledge and suggestions was helpful in our decisions. Also a shout out to Heather for accommodating our reservations, as confusing as they got closer to our arrival.
Dessert was phenomenal. Incredibly rich chocolate tort cake which could not be finished but taken home for later.
Desserts are not listed, so you need to ask about them.
Overall a nice dinner enjoyed by all with great service.
They have outdoor tables when the weather is nice, and warmer, and I believe they are pet friendly in that respect.
They offer a lunch menu, until 2:30(?) ,again check out the Restaurant’s website for more info.

Rivera was a complete surprise. Much to our delight! We found this very underrated gem located in Greer which is a very nearby town to Greenville. With a delightful ambience, spectacular service, and very fair pricing, we had one of the best meals in recent months spanning from Portugal to our home on Long Island. My wife and I both decided to go for their special fish of the day which was called "Corvina". The portions were extremely generous and maybe resulting from the fact that the cook is an avid fisherman who catches these wonderful types of fish from the Atlantic and brings it fresh to the restaurant. Since I am both gluten and lactose intolerant they modified the preparation beautifully by using oven roasted tomatoes, capers and flavorful rice in addition to the very el dante green beans that were lightly sautéed in olive oil. If this is rated the number seventh restaurant in this entire region I can't wait for the rest of our stay here!

We went to Rivera's after the festival in downtown Greer. Food was good, steak was chewy, but drinks were really good. We would go back for a second visit.

Very pleasant folks. Good service, good food, good value. And, they were very hospitable to our dog. We ate out on the sidewalk and they brought him a bowl of water. Thanks for the recommendation!
