Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am not entirely sure how common it may be for you to reserve rooms online, but in order to fully guarantee a reservation and secure a room at the online rate, a valid credit card must be submitted regardless if you pay online or directly at hotel. Our hotel policy states there is a 24 hour cancellation policy prior to date of arrival therefore we went ahead attempted to do a pre-authorization on your credit card on the arrival date.
As a courtesy, we contacted you by phone and notified to let you know that your credit card had declined and were requesting a valid credit or debit card so that way we could hold your room for the evening as there was high demand. In that conversation, we even clearly stated you could change your form of payment when you checked in but you refused that option. If all hotels were to hold rooms on invalid credit cards and the guest never shows up, we would lose the business from those who actually needed a room. As stated before and in your confirmation email, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy, for which is why you received an email from Expedia. If you have any other issues or concerns, please let us know.
Thanks,
