We've been coming here twice a year for many many years. The location is central to the historic district, the Market, restaurants and to King Street for shopping. Parking is available onsite for a fee and that's a big plus. We walk almost everywhere we want to go. We love going back and seeing the familiar faces of the staff, most of whom have been there for as long as we've been going. If you need information on where to go, what to do, where to eat, the staff is wonderful at offering suggestions and making reservations for guest. Complimentary breakfast is provided each morning and the shrimp and grits are a treat and a great way to start the day. Also, complimentary wine, cheese, etc. is provided in the afternoon. That's a great way to meet other guest and socialize with them. Indigo Inn is really a special place to us and we hope to continue to visit for many years.

Many good features, some room items that we wish could be fixed/improved. First the good features, in somewhat order:
1. Location - you're right downtown, right in the middle of where you want to be as a walking tourist
2. On site parking, only $16/day - their own parking lot behind the hotel, a rare thing in Charleston, and very convenient and handy for dropping stuff off in your car/ picking up items without valet hassles
3. Courtyard - all rooms face onto an interior courtyard (3 floors), and a great place to sit and enjoy the quiet surrounded by flowers, waterfalls, plants, and this is also where most eat breakfast and enjoy the evening wine and cheese offerings.
4. Breakfast included - coffee, oj, teas, hardboiled eggs, yogurts, cereals, danish, bananas, plus biscuits and gravy - help yourself!
5. Free wine and cheese every evening (5 - 6 pm), plus grapes, etc. a nice touch.

The things we wish could be improved:
1. Rooms are dark; only one window that faces onto courtyard, and if you don't turn on all lights, you're living in a cave.
2. Only one electrical outlet available (not counting the ones in the bathroom). If you need to charge up a laptop, there's only 1 electrical outlet - they need to add some power strips. They do have USB ports on their alarm clocks, which help, but need more outlets.
3. Room AC is a window unit (built into wall), and it's noisy. There's a nice overhead fan, but if you need more light, you need to turn on fan and overhead lights, can't do one without the other. Wish there was more control over those functions.

The place does have lots of charm, and all in all a very good experience on our Charleston stay.

Very nice little hotel. The hotel just a little funky vibe that is charming. Staff is friendly and helpful. Nice continental breakfast and wine in the afternoon. Rooms are not huge, but comfortable with great beds. Very convenient location only two blocks from the City Market. Thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay

Perfect location. Nice room. Friendly staff. Breakfast every morning and the wine and cheese every evening was a plus. Our room was right next to the entrance (only because we needed a pet friendly room)so it was very noisy early in the morning but it seems all of Charleston is under construction which starts very early so not the Inn's fault. We would definitely stay here again.

Yes, there is a lot of construction in Charleston right now, but we are glad that it did not deter you from enjoying your stay at the Indigo Inn, bayridgestar12; we look forward to seeing you again!!!

Nice accommodations that were clean and quaint. The service was great with complimentary continental breakfast and cheese / crackers and wine in the evenings. My favorite part of the hotel was the beautiful court yard in the center of the inn. The plants/trees and water fountains provide a calming and lovely place to enjoy the outdoors. I really felt the historical ambiance sitting in that beautiful court yard.
