For my first trip to Charleston, the Hampton Inn was a great choice. I parked in the parking garage behind the hotel. At first I was concerned about walking to the front of the hotel with my bags, but was pleasantly surprised to find a back door to the hotel for easy access. The hotel was clean and I felt safe there by myself. The courtyard is a nice place to spend time in the evening and next time I will get a ground floor room on the courtyard. Across the street from the Charleston Museum and one block away from the Aiken-Rhett House.

Hamptons have good beds, fair pillows, things you expect from Hilton. This property is tired. Staff is friendly. Location was central to our needs. The carpets are in need of replacement. The breakfast is fine for high cholesterol preference dieters. The robust coffee was always tolerable. I wonder why in this age of healthy lifestyles the stairwells are not enhanced to encourage usage, why healthier breakfast options are not offered?

We want to thank you for your business and taking the time to review your stay with us. I had never thought of making the stairwells less utilitarian and think that is a great idea. In the day and age of everyone needing to get their "steps" in what a great way to make that feel better. Thank you for that suggestion. We are almost done replacing the carpets in the hotel I am happy to say and we hope you will give us another chance to earn your business in the future.

This hotel is a gem! Loved location, access to all shops and restaurants and easy walking to all, but free bus across the street!! Beautiful lobby to do breakfast, read, or rest! Great breakfast also!

This has to be one of my top five of all the Hampton Inns that I stay. The building does show age but it fits the historical downtown decor and has the amenities that you enjoy with a newer version. The location, in downtown Charleston, makes it a memorable stay, especially with the family.

This hotel was centrally located so we could walk or quickly Uber to our tour. The room was clean, but you can tell bathroom was well used and in need of some touch ups. The breakfast was great and plenty of room to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. Kevin was very helpful when I asked for a local grocery store. The only disappointment was that there was NO PARKING. The rates are so great, but add an extra $20 a night to park in the local parking garage. Also, the free wi-fi is very spotty and didn't work well at all.
