I stayed there with my parents on New Year’s weekend, and I was impressed by how much it had changed. I had stayed down there a few years back when it was the Regency, and basically the place had a bad cigarette smoke smell, the furnishings were old (probably something out of the 1940s or 1950s), and there were a lot of things that didn’t work, as I remember. It is central to where our family lives, but we were actually going to Bensalem to a motel down there, because of the cigarette smoke (my family has breathing issues, and cigarette smoke aggravates them.) I like the fact that it looks a lot more modern, and a lot more up to date. The cigarette smoke smell was still there, but was nowhere near as bad as the first time (we did notice the housekeeper smoking when the guest room door was open in the room next to ours.) My Dad noticed holes in the sheets, and they fell off on the bed we (my son and I) were on (the housekeeper used flat sheets on the top and bottom) on one side, when I changed position. The toilet seat was really loose, and there wasn’t any coffee in the room or in the office, at least at the time I went in there (in the afternoon) (I’m not as familiar with Motel 6, as far as amenities, as I’ve stayed mostly at Red Roof Inns when I’ve needed a motel.) Still, it was a lot better, and in spite of needing attention in a few areas, it’s still a good place to stay if you need someplace for a night or a weekend, and is close to a lot of stores, and there is coffee available nearby at Wawa, Dunkin’ Donuts, or 7 Eleven, or bring a coffee maker.
