Meets motel expectations

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 13 Aug 2019
As is the case with budget hotels, there are both positives and negatives: First the good - The room was fairly clean with hardwood floors (though the bathroom showed signs of being worn down) and had enough space for myself, wife, and two small children (ages 3 and 2). It had a microwave, small fridge, and cable TV. Staff checked us in right away. They have coffee as well which my wife said was descent.

As for the bad...the hallway and lobby had a bad smell - not that we spent much time in either. The bathtub had no stopper. I asked the staff about it and he said that none of them did. The mattresses weren't very comfortable either.

We spent about $100 after all the fees, so no complaints about the price. As you may have guessed, I would say this is ideal for someone looking for a cheap place to stay where they are going to spend minimal time in the room - Check in, get some sleep and head out.

Tips:
- About 25 minutes from Sesame Place
- First floor rooms open right outside, so if you have safety concerns, ask to be on the second floor (I don't know if there is an elevator).
- A washcloth in the bathtub seemed to do the trick in allowing me to take a bath.
Date of stay: August 2019
Room Tip: second floor as first floor opens to the outside

Motel 6 is a great budget, rooms are very nice and they offer smoking and non-smoking room options for patrons. The rooms only has a small fridge but it does have a microwave which is a rarity these days. In short, this is a very good motel to stay, they accept cash or card and the bed was comfortable and shower was hot, not much more needed for a quick stay.

All I can say is check your sheets and pillow cases because ours were filthy. We called to have them replaced and the maid brought a stack of them with her. Obviously this was a known issue because she went through about 6 to 8 sets before she could find a set that was clean. After check in we drove around the left side of the building to park and noticed numerous older men sitting in lawn chairs drinking beer. Hey we drink beer so that's fine... but we got the feeling that they were long term residents of the place. It had the feeling of section 8 housing. We almost left but now the sheets were clean and were going to be out for most of the night so we stuck it out. But that was our first and last visit to this location.

My family and I stayed here to enjoy some of the local holiday attractions in the area. While at the hotel we had to deal with screaming, partying, swearing and sex noises. I have a child! I shouldn't have to deal with this. Front desk tried their best to help, but the guests are too rude to listen. Better noise policies need to be put in place to stop this from happening.

I stayed there with my parents on New Year’s weekend, and I was impressed by how much it had changed. I had stayed down there a few years back when it was the Regency, and basically the place had a bad cigarette smoke smell, the furnishings were old (probably something out of the 1940s or 1950s), and there were a lot of things that didn’t work, as I remember. It is central to where our family lives, but we were actually going to Bensalem to a motel down there, because of the cigarette smoke (my family has breathing issues, and cigarette smoke aggravates them.) I like the fact that it looks a lot more modern, and a lot more up to date. The cigarette smoke smell was still there, but was nowhere near as bad as the first time (we did notice the housekeeper smoking when the guest room door was open in the room next to ours.) My Dad noticed holes in the sheets, and they fell off on the bed we (my son and I) were on (the housekeeper used flat sheets on the top and bottom) on one side, when I changed position. The toilet seat was really loose, and there wasn’t any coffee in the room or in the office, at least at the time I went in there (in the afternoon) (I’m not as familiar with Motel 6, as far as amenities, as I’ve stayed mostly at Red Roof Inns when I’ve needed a motel.) Still, it was a lot better, and in spite of needing attention in a few areas, it’s still a good place to stay if you need someplace for a night or a weekend, and is close to a lot of stores, and there is coffee available nearby at Wawa, Dunkin’ Donuts, or 7 Eleven, or bring a coffee maker.
