Went to the poconos for our annual guys golf trip. House was very fun, cool layout, comfterble mattresses and all around a warm house. Would def go back again!
Spent the weekend here with a group of friends the week before one of us got married. The house was perfect and fit all of us comfortably. Along with the fire pit out back and Arrowhead lake right across the street, it made for a nice, relaxing weekend. The owner was very quick to get back to me with suggestions of activities in the area and any other questions I had.
This house was incredible. Layout was so cool. Owner thought of everything! Definately a home to visit again.
We stayed this past week at this home. My mom and dad are the ones that signed the lease agreement but we had a total of 3 couples and 2 children. We arrived feeling sorry for the owners because they reported they needed to clean from the last guests more than they anticipated. This house was smaller than we imagined after looking at the pictures. We felt cramped. We also anticipated a larger refrigerator. The beds were small and ours was so hard it was like sleeping on a board. As we were turning down our sheets on the first night, we noticed there were clumps of hair on each of our pillows. We had trouble using the DVD player in the kitchen/living area and the WiFi was slower than anticipated. The upstairs bathroom was not the cleanest and there was also termites and ants in the kitchen area. More than once, I needed to smack an ant off of my leg.
There were plenty of positives about this home. First and foremost, the owners were only a phone call away and could walk us through any problem solving (i.e. how do we start the grill? how do we use the DVD player?). There were PLENTY of towels and washcloths! The shower faucet tells you what temperature the water is. There is a working air hockey table and pool table. There is also a newish bathroom downstairs.
For future guests, this home would be great for a bachelor/bachelorette party or a small family long weekend vacation. There would likely be one person per bed, you would not need a ton of refrigerator space, and you could utilize more of the games on the bottom floor.
We recently stayed as a "meet in the middle" vacation, where a group of us came up from VA, and my wife and I traveled down from MA.
Check-in was easy, as Dana stayed in touch and provided the key location via text on our arrival day.
The house was clean, beds were made and towels fully stocked. There was a "welcome basket" on the living room table, with assorted snacks.
We had a 14 yr old, and the rest of the group ranged from 25-58. There was plenty to do in the community, but we spent most of our recreation time away from Arrowhead, other than a few times out on the kayaks (brought our own), and of course the fireworks.
The downstairs has a large wraparound couch, and a gaming table that flips from pool to air hockey. The deck on the top floor has a gate that latches, meaning our dogs had a great time running back and forth on it, barking at the wildlife and golf carts that went by.
The only "complaint", and not aimed at the owner in any way, was the cost of the community's activity wristbands. They were $30/ea for the week, bring our total to $210 (+$75 for 3 gate key cards). It may have been a better value if we took part in more within the community, but there was plenty of hiking, waterparks, and the Pocono Wine Trail to keep us busy. If you have the time, take part in some of the activities within the gates, to ensure you get a good value for the cost of the wristbands.
