From the time of our arrival when we met bellman/concierge Ananta, our stay at the Fairmont Pittsburgh was comfortable and flawless.

We especially appreciated the extra large shower and wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows. The view was Pittsburgh postcard perfect.

The puzzling in-room Keurig was solved by the downstairs Starbucks.

We booked this hotel for my wife's birthday specifically because it had a spa. Our room was very nice, valet service was quick, and the staff was friendly and helpful. So, no complaints about our stay.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the spa. We booked couples massages over a month prior to our stay. We told them it was my wife's birthday and they offered her a complimentary mimosa with the service. About two weeks before our stay, we were informed that the spa could no longer accommodate our couples massage in the same room and that we would have separate massages because the spa was going to be very busy that day. No other explanation was provided. We canceled the massages because that is not the experience that we booked. There was no consolation offer or other attempt to assuage our disappointment. It made us feel like someone more important wanted the service we had already booked and the spa bumped us to accommodate them.

We considered canceling our room reservation altogether because the spa was the primary reason that we booked this hotel, but instead we made the best of it and enjoyed a nice night in the city. We are glad we did because the room, valet, and hotel staff were great. It was the spa experience that left us disappointed.

Sadly, the Fairmont Pittsburgh is in a great location and has the brand Fairmont which is usually a good thing, but the Fairmont Pittsburgh is in bad shape. The food is good, the restaurant/bar has a good vibe and other than the infestation of the Spotted Lancer Flies (seasonal, so don’t worry if you’re planning a winter trip), it’s habitable. The Staff said PNC bank owns the building they are in and is in charge of landscaping and upkeep so any problems are “not their responsibility”.
The Staff are not trained in hospitality, Bed Bug infestation in both beds (a LOT of bites), the room that was reserved and paid for was not available with the explanation of “that’s not our problem”. No price adjustments or any other room available.
If you want hospitality when you travel, look elsewhere. If you just want a warm bed (and don’t mind bed bugs), good location and decent (expensive) food, Fairmont Pittsburgh is an expensive way to get it.

Room tip: Check for bed bugs. Don’t go with any expectations of the customary Fairmont hospitality experience.

Had an amazing stay for our wedding! The rooms were great, the staff were all very friendly and helpful; especially the bellhop, Ananta, he’s the man! Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend and I would highly recommend staying here on a visit to Pittsburgh!

Very comfortable room, outstanding guest services. Front desk staff was accommodating and kind. Specifically Jasmine at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. Ananta ensured our stay was comfortable and we had everything we needed to feel at home.

The team at the Fairmont was amazing! My husband and I got married there and everything turned out beautifully. Joanna was awesome helping us through the planning process, and Ananta was great with helping us load all of our belongings after the event. He was very kind and professional. Can’t recommend the Fairmont enough!
