Dusty and lacking luxury

The overall experience was disappointing, especially given the high price point. When we checked in, the staff seemed put out and unwelcoming. There was visible dust all over the room including clumps in the bathroom, closet, ceiling. When they cleaned the room, they removed the towels and did not replace. Breakfast was good, though the host had a blank stare when we checked in and told them we were in a hurry. The lobby and exterior was full of Phillies fans stalking the team who was staying there. I spent 20 minutes trying the register for an account with All to get WiFi with no luck. I finally received the code via email a day after we checked out. So they not give new WiFi access to clients who checkin on the weekend? Nice views, but Overpriced, dirty, and very expensive without the value or delivering on the basics.

Every year we come to Pittsburgh, we are excited for our stays at the Fairmont. This is our first trip since Covid, and the caliber of service has not changed.
Alex has to be one of the best staff here. Not only does he greet each guest with a friendly smile but his recommendations for places to go are spot on. He will tell you all the local hidden spots and restaurant gems. Having staff that treat you with such friendliness, respect and a desire to ensure your happiness, is always a breath of fresh air in today’s day and age. Alex, thanks for making this trip extra special for me and my aunt.

Great place to stay. Super comfortable beds. Great location for almost any activity downtown. View of the ballpark our your window. Staff is over the top. Wish they had a safe in the room, but that's not a deal breaker. Starbucks right in the lobby. Will make this my go to for Pittsburgh.

I was shocked at the condition of the room. The drapes were dirty and stained. The bathroom wallpaper was stained, the shower had mold and mildew in it. I let the front desk know immediately, they sent housekeeping but there was nothing that they could do. We were never offered another room which makes me wonder if all of the rooms are in the same condition. I was expecting so so much more for the $800 that they charged!

Room tip: Don’t spend your money here.

Pros: Loved Le Labo products in the bathroom. Walking distance to everything. Good views. Got a free upgrade and had a clean room with separate living space and two full bathrooms and a walk in closet. Starbucks on premises. Good service from cleaning staff Tyra.
Can be improved: While Valet parking was prompt, I missed my first turn because they don't have a roundabout for cars (you have to stop right smack on Market Street.) Carpets are stained and a bit dated.

Just spent 5 nights and the hotel rooms are in need of an update and refresh. They put a black plastic wrap under the mattress/around the bed frame that was ripped and looked not fitting of a "luxury" hotel. Bathrooms and wall paper are dated. The biggest issue is that there is a staffing shortage at the hotel - we had trouble getting our room serviced one day after calling several times. There was no available valet to help with our luggage upon our departure - the woman at the Front Desk said that she was the only one working. With that said, the staff were pleasant and the restaurant/bar is good. The hotel is not luxury and hopefully they can try to resolve staffing issues and invest some money into updating the property.
