Nickel and diming in a dirty “deluxe” room.

While the location was very convenient, and the building and main lobby were beautiful, the room had lots of scuff marks on the walls, and the sheets and blankets had multiple dirty spots from stains. Also, being charged extra for internet, late checkout, snacks, and more after paying nearly $400 seemed ludicrous. The staff were very friendly and helpful despite the nickel and diming.

Dated and worn. Not sure how this is considered a fairmont. Stains all over carpet. Bathrooms barely passable as clean. Mini fridge in room does not work. No water bottle filling stations even though the signs on the doors near lobby said “water and ice.”

The lobby is nice but I sleep in my room…not the lobby.

Overall disappointed. Was a work trip so luckily not my money.

We have been staying here over a longer weekend. Room was almost $500 per night. At first, the room looked nice and clean. However, looking behind the scenes the carpet was greedy and the bed was worn out.

More importantly the service in the hotel did not at all match the asking price for the room. It looks like they’re massively understaffed with the service personnel.

We were told housekeeping will come to the room every third day which I found kind of weird since every other hotel around does not seem to have such issue. So we asked to get the towels changed. Housekeeping, just threw them in the bathroom and left the old ones there on the floor.

Internet access would have been charged with $16 per night. Although I am an Accor Member the free access would not work.

Since we had only decaf capsules for the coffee machine in the room, we had asked the front desk to refill the capsules regular coffee. I called them five times over the first day, nothing happened. Last in the morning I told them I would like to have a coffee before I leave. And I told them that I was really disappointed about the service. Eventually, they gave us two capsules for the morning coffee.

They have three elevators, two of them didn’t seem to work properly one day, we literally had to wait 20 minutes before we could go up to the room. Everybody else around us was also complaining about it.

The front desk was not staffed at all times, there was also no way to call somebody to the front desk if nobody was there.

Don’t get me wrong, but we chose a good hotel to receive a good service. The price was way too high for the service level we have received.

Also, I would expect that management would starting to take care when you complain at the front desk. Did not happen in this hotel. When we checked out, we weren’t even asked how to stay was. They either knew it was bad or they were not interested to hear about it.

We will not go there anymore.

The Fairmont Spa is amazing and the ambience is impeccable! They have a variety of different services to choose from, including facials, massages, and nails services. Elise is the best - she is attentive and very knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

This is not a 5 star hotel it may be a 1 star or a bit less. I don't have time to list all the issues at this hotel. Not clean, carpet looks like there was a flood has folds in it so bad you could trip on them, TV doesn't work, WIFI doesn't work, phone doesn't work. Room service menu hours are incorrect, no food available mist of the day. My recommendation would be find any other place to stay.

Room tip: Don't stay here. Sleep in your car.

This was the most disappointing, expensive hotel stays I’ve ever had. I’ve stayed at the Swissotel in Chicago and since this was in the same brand, I had high expectations. This was an anniversary staycation trip and we were fine paying the cost for the room, but expected much higher quality than what one might get from an older 3-star hotel. We have stayed at Omni’s (Dallas), Kimpton’s, Swissotel (Chicago) and Renaissance Hotels that are all comparably priced and MUCH nicer than this hotel.
The carpet was filthy (thank God I remembered my travels socks), the bathroom tile grout was black (yuck), the bathroom ceiling was warped & there were odd scrapes in the wallpaper in the bathroom. Multiple lights were out or switches just didn’t work. It is just ridiculous how awful this hotel room was.

We were so excited that we opted for one night instead of two. We had planned to sleep in and have breakfast in bed, but the state of the room convinced us to just check-out early and eat breakfast elsewhere in town. The only nice thing about this was the staff. The valet, Cody, was great and gave us advice on dining that was a great experience. We barely wanted to return to the room. Overall, this is place is just outdated and obviously not at all maintained. Find a better hotel and save yourself the money.
