My husband and I spent 3 days and 4 nights last fall in Pittsburgh at the Drury Inn & Suites Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge and had a lovely time!
First of all, a shout-out to Rhonda in central reservations, who took the time and effort to provide a detailed cost comparison for me when we were selecting which Drury Inn to stay at. Also thank you to Travis when I called to confirm dates, for letting me know about a football game at the university. I appreciate both of you!
Kait and Erica at the front desk were both wonderful; Erica was there for us most days and helped out on several occasions by answering my questions and assisting us in getting additional items for the room. Thank you! All the staff in the breakfast area were also great and their smiles gave us a good start to our days.
The hotel feels new, with nicely appointed rooms and common areas. It’s very clean; I did floor yoga while we were there, and the carpet smelled fresh. The beds were comfortable, and our room was very quiet, even with the proximity of the highway. There was absolutely no airport noise.
There is a full complement of hot and cold breakfast options, and nice seating areas to choose from. The evening buffet was excellent and very much appreciated, after time on the road or in the city.
The hotel’s location is just across the highway from a shopping mall with grocery and other service stores; we easily walked to it but one could also drive. It’s a 20-to-25-minute drive to downtown Pittsburgh from the Drury Inn. The only difficulty we encountered was navigating traffic on the highways, which is a common problem in any major city. Rush hour seems to extend until 10 a.m. and starts around 3:30 p.m.
The only thing I did NOT like was the automatic on/off bathroom light. Every time I went in during the night, the light went on and woke me up fully. It would have been better to have a nightlight option, or at least allow for manual shut-off of the automatic feature.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Drury Inn at Settler’s Ridge, and would definitely stay there again on a return trip to Pittsburgh!
