Great Hidden Gem

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 13 Aug 2024
This is a hidden gem. The rooms, beds, pillows are all very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is excellent and abundant, but the real gem is the evening appetizers(?) which really constitiutes a full meal. Drury Inn provides one free and 2 $1 drink tickets for each guest AND a buffet. The meal for our last stay was pork barbecue, hot dogs, cole slaw, mac and chees, garden salad and more. Ths value is outstanding.

My husband and I spent 3 days and 4 nights last fall in Pittsburgh at the Drury Inn & Suites Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge and had a lovely time!

First of all, a shout-out to Rhonda in central reservations, who took the time and effort to provide a detailed cost comparison for me when we were selecting which Drury Inn to stay at. Also thank you to Travis when I called to confirm dates, for letting me know about a football game at the university. I appreciate both of you!
Kait and Erica at the front desk were both wonderful; Erica was there for us most days and helped out on several occasions by answering my questions and assisting us in getting additional items for the room. Thank you! All the staff in the breakfast area were also great and their smiles gave us a good start to our days.

The hotel feels new, with nicely appointed rooms and common areas. It’s very clean; I did floor yoga while we were there, and the carpet smelled fresh. The beds were comfortable, and our room was very quiet, even with the proximity of the highway. There was absolutely no airport noise.

There is a full complement of hot and cold breakfast options, and nice seating areas to choose from. The evening buffet was excellent and very much appreciated, after time on the road or in the city.

The hotel’s location is just across the highway from a shopping mall with grocery and other service stores; we easily walked to it but one could also drive. It’s a 20-to-25-minute drive to downtown Pittsburgh from the Drury Inn. The only difficulty we encountered was navigating traffic on the highways, which is a common problem in any major city. Rush hour seems to extend until 10 a.m. and starts around 3:30 p.m.

The only thing I did NOT like was the automatic on/off bathroom light. Every time I went in during the night, the light went on and woke me up fully. It would have been better to have a nightlight option, or at least allow for manual shut-off of the automatic feature.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Drury Inn at Settler’s Ridge, and would definitely stay there again on a return trip to Pittsburgh!

Room tip: It's a great location; just always plan for a commute into and out of the city.

Drury Inn & Suites are quickly becoming my go to hotel. I have yet to encounter anything short of exceptional when staying at a Drury Property. The Drury Inn & Suites near the Pittsburgh Airport is an exceptional hotel. Every member of the staff is friendly, professional and goes the extra mile to ensure that you have a carefree and enjoyable stay. My room was well attended and very clean. The bed well made and comfortable. The wi-fi was strong, dependable and worked well during my entire stay. This hotel features ample parking in a will lit lot. The evening kickback features a rotating menu of light appetizers, unlimited soft drinks along with a small selection of adult beverages. Breakfast features eggs, a variety of meat, gravy along with fruit, cereals, juice and coffee. The staff do a wonderful job of keeping the breakfast and Kickback area clean and well stocked during the advertised hours. This Drury Inn also features a shuttle to the Nearby Pittsburgh Airport which is a very nice feature for travelers. I highly recommend the Drury Inn-Settlers Ridge and will stay here whenever I find myself in the Pittsburgh Area.

This hotel was not only beautiful, affordable, and pristinely clean, every employee I encountered was genuinely friendly, gracious, and helpful! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that supper was included, which was a delicious taco bar. Breakfast was also delicious and fresh, including oatmeal, cold cereals, plain or cheddar & sausage scrambled eggs, sausage patties, various breads, fresh fruits, juices, and a waffle maker. The king bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and all around it was quiet and peaceful. The airport shuttle was immensely convenient and the driver was courteous, kind, and prompt. Thank you so much for an exceptional stay!! I highly recommend this hotel!!

We needed a one night stay before our flight out of Pittsburgh. We wish we would have been able to arrive earlier but life got in the way. When we did arrive around 9pm, we were greeted with smiles. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The front desk helped us make arrangements for the free shuttle in the morning and told us about the yummy free buffet breakfast (and it was delicious). They also had free drinks (a Coke machine with water!) that we could get anytime. I heard there was free popcorn from the reviews, but we didn’t see that. My kids and my husband loved the room, as did I. It was huge. We just got a standard room but the space was unbelievable. It was so clean. The bathroom was spacious and also so clean. I have nothing bad to say about any part of this hotel! The parking was free for the night we stayed and the night we fly back, but it was $9 per night to keep our car there. That is still a much better deal than the airport. The shuttle driver was the nicest man. It was a quick 15 minute trip. They told us to call them when we got back and they would pick us up. I will forever be a Drury guest and share this experience. I wish we would have made the 5:30 kick off meal but there will most definitely be a next time!!!

Thank you for such great hospitality!!!

Room tip: Best tip would be to just stay here!!!

Most comfortable bed and pillows I've ever had in hotel! Room was well maintained and clean. None of the caulking problems, etc., you would typically see in other hotels. Breakfast was good - though they had the exact same selections all 3 days. While we did not take advantage of it - the free 5 pm happy drinks and food sure sound great- next time. Lastly - while this property is near the airport it is a quik 15 mins to downtown. Only downside was that we had an adjoining room assigned to us and the people in the next room sounded like they were sitting at the edge of our bed. They were talking to 1 am in the morning and it was very frustrating. I presume a room without the connecting door would be more quiet, hopefully. Nonetheless would stay again.

Room tip: Unless you need one - avoid getting an adjoining room since the sound travels easily
