Upon arriving into the Pittsburgh grey hound station i called the hotel for a free ride pick up. Hampton Inn gives you rides within a 3 mile radius. Within 5 minutes my ride came and picked me up. Check in was very fast and easy. My room was on the 4th floor. I was assigned an ada handicap room (even though i am not ada handicap). This room and bathroom was B I G. It had a king bed, A good view of the city, WI-FI, tv, refrigerator and a ton of plugs for electrics. I always bring an extension cord just in case and it still came in handy. My room is a connecting room. In the room there is a digital thermostat. At first this can be kind of a challenge to work. I set the room around 70’ , cool and on high. You can set it to whatever temp u want heat or cool. You can set it to be on high or low. I like to have it on high so i can fall asleep better and faster. This really helped drown out the noise level a neighbor next door who was blasting the tv while i was trying to sleep. Luckily this is only happened my last night. I fell a sleep very fast. On the forth floor i could not hear the street traffic.
What i liked about the wifi is you do not share the same password as other rooms in the hotel. You type in your room number and last name to get access to the wifi. This i would think would make it more secure.
For the WIFI there are two options free or 4.99 a night. I did the free option. i used it to research, travel plans, google maps, mail and youtube. I had no problems with the free option.
I had the chance to have three delicious hot breakfast at the Hampton Inn all free of charge. Breakfast starts at 6am and ends at 10am everyday. I love to eat breakfast and to go down stairs to smell and see the endless breakfast! Prepared to be stuffed and ready for a fantastic day. They have your usual cold cereal, muffins, danish’s, pastries, toast, bagels, hard boiled eggs and fruit (banana’s apples and oranges) Then there comes the hot food three already cooked, hot and ready to eat. Each morning was different fresh toast sticks, scrambled eggs, hash browns to name a few. In my opinion what really toped my breakfast was the greek yogurt parfait smoothies and pressed juice. You can also get fresh orange juice, apple juice too. Then there is the make it your self waffles. Most morning you can make the standard vanilla favor batter but one of my stays i had the blueberry waffle batter so delicious. Remember your room should have a refrigerator so do not feel bad grabbing some snacks for later. No matter where i stay i always have a hard time making the perfect waffle. Even though there are instructions telling you how to make a waffle. The staff at this hotel could see i was struggling and having a hard time so they offered to help me out every day of my stay to make the perfect waffle for me and anything else as well.
Every morning there is supposed to be free shuttle rides within a 3 miles radius. During my stay this was only Available my first evening there. They can call a taxi and if it is within three miles they will reimburse you. Just make sure you get a receipt from the taxi driver otherwise they cannot reimburse you. This happened to me and i lost about $13.00.
If you want a good place for a sunset look no further then the parking lot in front of the hotel’s main entrance. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. I found lots of places to eat on Forbes avenue. Lots of places for a very low deal. I got two good dinner’s for less the. $10.00 without going to fast food chains.
The morning i am checking out the front desk calls me a taxi through an automated number. The guy says the cab should come within 10 minutes. The cab never came. 10-15 minutes later one of the staff members saw that i was still waiting and the next thing i knew two workers were calling me a cab. One staff member was doing the automated number while making sure they got a confirmation number. The other worker physically called the cab company not automated. The cab finally came within 5 minutes.
The staff at this hotel were very helpful, friendly, compassionate and went above and beyond to make my stay the best it can be and more. They made my stay well worth it. I will highly recommend anyone to this hotel.

WOW! What a detailed review! I am so happy to hear how wonderful our staff treated you, helped, you, and provided for you! Every associate here takes pride in the work they do. Our reimbursement policy is nice when our shuttle is not available, giving guest's another option. Our breakfast team provides a variety of different items and makes sure the our guest's are satisfied and happy. It's the little details that matter most when it comes to helping out a guest and I strongly feel after reading this review, our team(s) did exactly that, exceeded expectations! Our shuttle drivers give great name locations to visit, make sure our guests are picked up/dropped off at designated locations, and overall go above and beyond! We hope to see you again in the near future for another exciting stay :)

I was in Pittsburgh to attend a conference at CMU. This was a 20-minute walk from this Hampton Inn. Good rooms. Good free breakfast. WiFi is slow, but usable. The neighborhood is a bit odd as they were demolishing whatever it was next door. This is Pittsburgh where old cathedrals are next door to new college dorms. Good value.

Thank you for the review! I am happy to hear how convenient the location was for the conference you attended. We have a lot of popular spots (medical, universities, etc.) near our location! Our breakfast team works hard to provide a proper and tasty breakfast so I am glad you enjoyed it! The construction will hopefully be over soon so I do apologize for any noise or inconvenience for that! Overall, I am pleased that our team here at the Hampton provided good accommodations that created a wonderful experience for you!

A clean hotel, very good room and courteous staff made for a pleasant stay. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My wife enjoyed the fitness room. Very good complimentary breakfast, although the one negative was the bacon was paper thin. Overall a very good experience.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review! I am so happy to hear our team was so helpful during the stay you had with us! We do our best to maintain this property as best as possible. Our guestroom beds are very comfortable and I am glad you enjoyed them so much. Our breakfast team works hard to provide all of our guests with a wide range of items for the mornings and are very friendly! Let me look into the bacon reference and see what I can do for next time :) I am very happy with the overall experience you had with us. We have a strong culture here, a wonderful team, and try our best to strive for excellent service!

The location was pretty convenient for our needs in downtown Pittsburgh, however construction around and nearby was a little annoying. Breakfast was superb with a lot of options, including healthy options. The room was a bit small for 3 people. It was difficult to move around easily.
The biggest problem and why three stars was the shuttle service. We selected this hotel bc of the advertised shuttle. The shuttle driver was not able to pick us up at the time the hotel front desk had told us pick up time would be. After he picked us up 40 min later, he told us that he would not be able to pick us up. This was not what was advertised. Ultimately he did pick us up, but it added a stress that we didn't expect from the advertisement/information we were given beforehand.
Would recommend better communication between the shuttle driver and the front desk!!

Thank you for taking the time to write us this review with crucial feedback! I am sorry the construction had made the stay annoying. They are working hard to clear that area as fast as possible! I am happy to hear you enjoyed the breakfast and all the options we provide. Our breakfast team is hardworking and does a great job in the mornings. It is unfortunate what happened with the shuttle service and the front desk team and I want to personally apologize for the long wait time you had and the amount of stress it caused you! I will be taking this feedback and sharing it with my team so we can do a better job! This is not typical here at the property. Communication is highly important to us. If you need any help in the future I would love to personally assist/help in the best possible way!
