The staff is very friendly and informative, room had a slight smell/odor. It's very close to UPMC Magee, plus several restaurants and CVS within walking distance. The hotel has onsite parking with in/out privileges, plus a free shuttle.
Stayed 8/17/19, room wasn't ready so I had to change for a wedding in hotel bathroom & touch up my hair in the glass of a lobby picture; ended up being late for wedding; had to check-in after wedding, so now we were late for the reception; next morning, continental breakfast was pretty sparse, could see items while standing in line, but they were out once we got there; waited 15 minutes & most items weren't replenished, so we had to end up going out elsewhere; I received an email back from Mr. Artuso of Guest Relations who only offered an apology; when I asked about 100% satisfaction guarantee & some sort of compensation, he never bothered to answer me back; my wedding experience was ruined!

We stayed at Hampton Inn while visiting Pitt. Nice hotel - staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was quiet and breakfast was good. Close to the University and the hospital. Had to pay for parking but it is in the city and you could park yourself (no valet). I would stay here again.
Recently stayed here & got a corner room which was a bit smaller than your normal HI room, which was fine, but what wasn't ok was the less than clean shower enclosure & absolutely no bathroom storage. No shelf under the sink, no drawers, no room on the back of the toilet because that's where the tissue box & extra roll are stored because there's no storage. Definitely a design flaw on a relatively newly remodeled hotel. Breakfast was also "interesting" shall we say. In the 100+ nights I've stayed in Hilton hotels this year this was the 1st time I've ever seen Trix yogurt. Are you kidding me? The sugar level is off the charts & not anything any adult I know would select as a healthy option. The pressed juices were all empty & no one in sight for refills & none of the chobani smoothies either which was disappointing.

First visit to Pittsburgh--thus uncertain where to make reservation. But found this hotel ideal for walking to all amenities associated with Pitt University--restaurants, Forbes Field home plate/wall and campus. Also with complimentary hotel shuttle very easy to get downtown with access to PNC Park/Heinz Field. Plus always a plus to have free parking and comp breakfast.
