Shower had mold on the seam. I took my washcloth and scrubbed it off. It was clearly not cleaned to come off like that. I included before and after pics along with what came off onto the washcloth. I only used a wet washcloth not even bleach cleaner!
This is the friendliest, clean and inviting hotel in Matamoras or many other places we've stayed. I highly recommend it. We stay there twice a year, every year on our trips to FL and back. We love it and all the workers are terrific!! You won't find a friendlier hotel around, and they recently added a terrific restaurant right on the premises!
We were very impressed with this hotel. Our home is just down the road, but we needed a place to stay while a contractor was doing a job for us. The staff was friendly and considerate, the room was spotless, and everything was convenient. The breakfasts and other free of charge 24-hour refreshments were very, very nice. There were other amenities, but we didn't use any of them.
Hotel in bad need of a refresh. Rooms are dated. The breakfast offering leave plenty to be desired. Paper thin near translucent sliced bacon was the only meat offering. Long wait for waffle station. Which after looking at the scrambled eggs which literally had water dripping from them were the best option. The coffee maker in the room was so old the start button was nearly worn off. The wall outlet near coffee maker had paint chipped away. The mattress was lumpy x2 because I chose the room with double beds due to the same experience from another best western hotel and if course both mattresses were disappointing.
The location is easy to get to. Plenty of other businesses nearby. The hotel looked fine on the outside. The front desk was easy to find and the staff was friendly. One of the elevators was not functional as the sign mentioned, so have to walk to the other end of the hall to get into the one working elevator. The room was very nice. Everything was clean and we didn't notice any issues. The included breakfast had the usual hot and cold offerings. I did notice the BW logo on the waffle iron. Sadly no fresh fruit or preserves for the waffles. I thought the price was a bit high for what we got but that could be the area and the season. Overall, it was comfortable and I could return to the hotel if in the area again.
