And obviously unhappy staff, the room that was somewhat clean although the balcony was filthy and the bathroom paper towel holder it was broken, and the ropes look like they’ve been used, but never washed. Really service substituted one of the items in my order without telling me and why do they still have DIRECTV in 2023? Hilton spend a little money and upgrade your televisions and TV service.
We stayed recently for one night for a wedding. The reception staff were very helpful and considerate. Our room was a decent size.
Unfortunately, the hallways were somewhat dingy and the carpets were not clean. There was visible dirt and debris along the hallways and in reception. Our room carpet needed cleaning also. When I turned on the faucet in the tub, a blob of something came out. I am not sure what it was and I didn't want to find out.
We were disappointed - we always thought that the Desmond and Hilton had a well deserved high end reputation.
Nice stay - room was very clean. Food was pretty good too - had breakfast and dinner there. The only problem was I called ahead of the time and wanted to use the tennis courts. No one told me - neither the agent on the phone nor the front desk staff when I checked in that I must reserve the courts. Because when I came back in the evening and wanted to go check out the tennis courts the pros were teaching junior clinics.
Very good hotel, friendly staff with extremely comfortable beds and good sized room. Restaurant was also OK and bar area. Only negative was my room was not cleaned for the 3 days there....maybe I should have requested!
Pros: the location is great, many options around, seemed like a safe area near a lot of corporate parks. The staff was friendly and easily reachable. The TV was phenomenal and featured a swivel making it easy to connect HDMI for things like Firesticks. Room service has a fair menu, the food was good, veggies fresh and was delivered super quickly.
Cons: The room itself did not meet my expectations for the Hilton family. The building was old, carpets were old, and while the main conference areas were impressive and well cared for and they had some gorgeous patio areas, the room I had seemed neglected. The pillows were hard feather style and seemed well used. The hairdryer was so old the print was wearing off. I booked a two night stay and the teeny shampoo bottle was only enough for one. The sheets and linens were clean and fresh but the comforter underneath had a stain on it. The mattress were stiff and springy and the furniture in the room was old with the finish wearing away. In the double queen room, the bathroom was so small that the door practically touched the toilet, and there was no steam vent. This is also one of those places where the A/C unit is built into a corner of the room and extremely loud. When it blows, it’s directly at the bed and in your face. The walls were thin, doors were loud and I could hear people talking in the halls. Lastly, normally all the Hiltons offer some kind of breakfast Buffett there was nothing, I could barely get coffee, and it was terrible coffee, they didn’t even offer flavored creamer. Also, a microwave would have been helpful. And my key stopped working in the middle of the second evening causing me to roam up and down the halls in my pajamas and no shoes.
