Exceptional Hotel September 2024

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 16 Sept 2024
My husband and I are presently enjoying a long term stay while waiting for our new build home to be completed. Staff is extremely attentive, friendly and engaging especially noting the very lovely overnight staff member who always presents herself well, is charming, professional and extremely pleasant always smiling not typical traits of an overnight shift. We haven’t met any staff member who hasn’t been engaging and willing to make sure our stay is perfect. Our check in with Matt was quick, friendly and informative, a totally pleasant experience. Housekeeping is great and work very hard which is so appreciated by us. The courtyard area has been so nice to enjoy in this beautiful weather with a Firepit and comfortable seating in nicely kept surroundings. This is an exceptionally nice hotel with lots of restaurants, convenient shopping and things to do all very close to the hotel. Thank you to the management and staff for making our stay very enjoyable as we wait for our move into our new home.

This hotel is typically great. We LOVE that there are two restaurants and a coffee shop within walking distance—like two minutes. We’ve stayed here at least 6 times (family lives nearby), and this was our first negative experience. My husband got an upgrade to a two-room suite, but when we got to the room it smelled HEAVILY of smoke. Aren’t hotels supposed to be nonsmoking? It bothered me all weekend. I would hope they would use whatever resources they have to alleviate smoke in their rooms in the future.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review here and for the valuable feedback. Our hotel is indeed smoke-free, so there should not be the scent of smoke in any of our rooms. We do have several cleaning tools we use to alleviate any lingering scent, so we will be sure to address the room you stayed in ASAP. I apologize that it caused you any discomfort at all. Please if this ever occurs again, let us know while you're here!

The rooms are well appointed with good use of space and reasonable facilities. There was no traffic noise on the side facing the carpark. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. They will organise a room cleaning service when you request. The breakfast buffet is limited and needs more fresh and healthier options. The gym is well equipped.

Room tip: Plenty of parking. Go to breakfast earlier when the food is freshest.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The gym was adequate with a set of dumbells, a bench with some cardio equipment. Breakfast was just OK, but acceptable. Overall it was fairly quiet, but I could hear the occasional truck air brakes in the mornings. The kitchen was nice, with 2 burners on the stove, a microwave, full size fridge and freezer, small dishwasher and enough dishes, pot and pans to cook and eat. Nice and close to Valley Forge National Historical Park, which is an excellent place to spend a relaxing day, while seeing our history. We did drive to Paoli park and ride one day and take the train in to Philly. About 55 minutes on the train one way plus fares, so not the best way to go, even though parking was free and available. Overall a decent stay at the hotel, just not for going to Philly.

This hotel is one of the best places to visit. The staff is very accommodating to your every need. They have a fresh morning breakfast that will fit almost the pickets of eaters. They have an indoor pool, workout room and laundry. I had the opportunity to meet Marlene on the front desk and she was a great help I solving a booking issue, she was great.

This hotel has declined. We have been staying here since it opened 7 years ago. Now we found dried food on the carpet and stained towels in our room. The paper products are the cheapest available. They used COVID as an excuse to cut back the complementary breakfast, even dropping a lot of the self serve items. We have stayed in other hotels during COVID. Breakfast doesn’t have to be so limited. The bath tubs are not slip resistant. The previous manager provided rubber tub mats. This manager got rid of them.
What is still good about this hotel? There is plenty of hot water, and the beds are decent. The front desk has some great people, especially Andrew. As much as we like the location , we will look for alternative hotels next time.
