Nicely updated

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 21 Aug 2023via mobile
Hotel has been remodeled and updated since last stay in 2021. Much needed - update- everything, both in lobby and rooms, is fresher and brighter. Well stocked kitchenette, bedding is comfortable, breakfast is average. Shower could have been better cleaned/maintained.
Date of stay: August 2023

My husband and I stayed there for 1 night, but were forced to extend our stay by 1 day, which was not our choice. On first night, I had to call the front desk because our smoke detector light was flashing constantly. I was told they were having issues with a few of them and it was nothing to worry about. Also, the air conditioner was so loud that it was like standing near an airplane engine!
The second day we came back to our room exactly as we left it. The front desk told us we had to request our room to be cleaned. We needed towels, but there was no one to bring them up, so we had to go to front desk to get them.
Upon checking out, I told the front desk about our room not being cleaned. The response was that it's Hilton's policy to only clean when requested! Come on Hilton, $200 a night and towels and cleaning have to be requested?!? Won't stay here again!

    Room tip: Don't go there!

I stayed here a few days and was very happy with the room setup and how clean everything was. However, a few days after checking out I was hit with a wrongful $500 charge! Only after calling to ask what this was about do they tell me it was for a broken window made with a ball. We didn't even have a ball! After speaking to the Manager and asking them to please look into it further, they refused to help in any way. Please be careful when staying here, I do a lot of traveling and had never had any situation like this, if possible record the room and have someone inspect it before leaving or you could be hit with such an unpleasant surprise as I did!

Room tip: Be careful, I was wrongfully charged.

Stayed at this property in June 2023 for business and my experience was a mixture of pros and cons, if you will allow me to elaborate.
    Pros:
    - nice property and grounds. “Quiet” area but more on that later …
    - nice decor and seemed fairly modern furnishings
    - good breakfast selection included
    - free parking on site
    - guest suites are set up to be very functional and mine came with a kitchenette, work area and couch so it was quite adequate for business purposes.

    Cons:
    - only 1 guest suite elevator (?)
    - WiFi was a little clunky to establish but worked once I got it going
    - A but if a head scratcher, but the shower stall in my bathroom was from the 70s with original fixtures. Seemed to be out of place since the rest of the bathroom was updated … at least it was clean and not moldy.
    - My original reservation was for two nights but my plans changed and I had to return to Philadelphia and while the hotel was agreeable to adjust my reservation, they surprisingly told me that my nightly rate would increase by $10. They offered no explanation and it’s not worth arguing about but it was an unexpected and annoying quirk.
    - Train tracks run directly BESIDE this hotel and the train blows a loud whistle when it’s coming into the Lansdale station - which is right beside the hotel. An unfortunate situation although having said this, I did not hear the train during sleeping hours (overnight) but I am a heavy sleeper so I can’t confirm if the train runs at night or not ….

Overall, this is a reliable place to stay but the train thing might be a deal breaker for some.

Room tip: Be aware of the active railroad tracks directly beside the hotel

When lost our family home due to a house fire I made the mistake of trusting this hotel for a local extended stay. Two teenage daughters a wife and I all starting over with nothing but the clothes on our backs chose the Hilton brand in our time of despair. A brand I choose over 200 nights a year for work and a brand we chose for a family trip to Mexico in November of 2022. I booked the first 10 days on my Hilton app. myself thinking “I’m not just going to any hotel…I’m booking with Hilton”

I had to undergo foot surgery for an injury sustained in the house fire and this hotel fails on accessibility. Early in the 21 day stay the renovations/issues were somewhat tolerable as it was obvious that the hotel is undergoing a renovation. But shortly lack of parking security lighting, broken ice machines, broken elevators and only offering laundry only on the 5th floor made this stay very frustrating and challenging on crutches.

By the end of the 3rd week we began to achieve some rhythm of “normal” life as the kids were back in school my wife and I were each on track to complete a full week of work. But all that changed as I was locked out of the room today at noon only to find that my family and the handful of items we had replaced in the past three weeks were all expected depart the room ASAP. I believed the reservation to be 11 days away on June 1st when we move into our rental house.

“Nope… the temp housing agency never sent the right paperwork and we sold the room” was the response I got at the front desk. Unbelievable I thought as I had to cart 10 loads of stuff with a broken foot up two flights with sporadic elevator availability because of incorrect paperwork! Youngest daughter and wife both raced back hotel having left work and school early.

As soon as we can get in competitor’s extended stay we are done with Hilton entirely. I am angry that I supported this brand at the highest level for decades and it has let me down in such epic fashion in my family’s greatest time of need. Staff were cold and rude as they offered shallow apologies but no help or solutions. The clearly incompetent General Manager actually required I hobble the 200 yards back to the room on crutches to get a form of payment before he would give us the new room keys for the 2 new rooms we were bumped to from our previous 2 bedroom suite. Upon my return he told me they had sorted out payment with insurance/agency.

Unless you have lived through the loss of everything in a house fire it is difficult to explain how challenging every day life can become after a fire. We have now been further displaced and divided by this hotel’s thoughtless leadership.
