beauty and the beast

While it's an older venue in some ways its great shape and well maintained. I've been several times to the conference center which has been adequate but not over the top. This time I stayed in hotel since I was presenting at the conference the following day. The layout is bizarre like a labyrinth - it's a dizzying stretch of corridors and there's alot of walking. If you're going to be in the conference center ask for rooms on that side. You either walk outside OR up and around and then down, etc. Conference rooms we got were long and narrow - odd to see the podium so far away. Noise can spill from adjoining rooms, such as a revival meeting next door with musical instruments. You walk to lunch in restaurant/banquet area and back again. The room was on par with a standard good quality Marriott or Hilton set up - very updated bath room, the odd shower head sprayed down from ceiling (??). towels first rate, sheets smelled of institutional laundry and were rather coarse. the mattress was HORRIBLY firm, more like hard and I've slept on futons most of my life. Add to that horridly firm PILLOWs made my sleep a living hell. Took the heater a while to warm up the room and then kept running so had to shut it back later. I was assured my location would be quiet at check in. There was a door slamming or knocking every 3-5 minutes somewhere around 6 am, and when I walked around couldnt find the source. Also water ran in some location off and on from some connecting room which could be heard through the bathroom. Otherwise I heard no tv or talking through walls except some loud banter the following late morning. Was granted late check out but then housekeeping knocked and said they hadn't been told. There's no night light source in the bath - bring one, or you're flooded with fluorescent glow at 2 am. See attached wifi speed check which was uninspiring. Overall while I'd attend conference meetings here I'll not stay again but find something else nearby for better comfort. Banquet was a decent mix of a variety of food but favorites run out soon so walk with a quick step!

Just came back from a conference here - the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and plentiful. Although it would be good to have a bit more variety on the various days. Bar is expensive and small - few selections (especially for wine)...Rooms are large and comfortable - housekeeping variable (some days very good, others days not so good). Nice TV and places to work. Although the work space could be a bit more comfortable. A bit out in the middle of no where... so you may feel trapped if you do not have a car.
Conference rooms very comfortable - and a very nice touch was the shawls in case the rooms got cold!
Would recommend!

Room tip: make sure you are away from the lounges in the Hallway!

This hotel does not advertise like the chain hotels so I did not know about it until I drove past one day. It is off the main road and located on a golf course. It was very quiet so it does not seem like a place for kids. We had a suite and it was such a relaxing overnight getaway. The staff, from the front desk to the food servers, were great. They even had complimentary drinks in the room for us. There was a balcony where you could look out and see nothing but greenery. There were several places on the grounds that you could sit and taken in the peace and quiet. There is plenty plenty shopping close by. I will definitely return and recommend this to friends and family.

We stayed one night for an event. The setting is lovely, and right near the Morris Arboretum, which was wonderful. However, you do need a car to see anything. The hotel is clean, common spaces especially nice. The setting in the golf course is pretty, but again, can't really walk around there.

Came to philly to hang with some friends and didn't want to make the drive back home after such a long night. Found this hotel after 2 this morning. I was calling around and everyone was booked for the night or was having issues with their reservation system.
The name threw me off, however, upon arrival I was very impressed. Finding my room felt like a complete maze but this exceeded my expectations. Wish I could have stayed longer

Disappointed by the lack of facilities for such an expansive venue. Fitness room has about 5 treadmills, far too small, and no path for walking or jogging just the admonition that you can’t walk on the golf course paths. Service was good. Food was ok. Just seems about 20 years behind the times. Despite idyllic setting, I wouldn’t recommend. Feels very old school and a bit depressing.
