A good hotel, great for the price - but make sure there's a hard lock on the door

Ah, goodness. I'm torn on this review. The room was really nice and clean and an exceptional value for the price. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was nice, and the parking is free and easy. It's right next to the highway, so the road noise is loud, but that didn't bother me (it may bother you if you're a light sleeper). The door to outside actually opens if you want some fresh air on the little balcony.

However, I noticed as I was preparing for bed that my room didn't have a deadbolt/hard lock. I pulled the luggage bench in front of it to sleep, and I was fine. The next morning, after I showered and was taking a work call at the desk in-room, the door swung open. There was no knock or warning, just opened right up. I yelled, HELLO, and a lady sort of giggled and said, SORRY, and slammed the door and ran. When I finished my work call, I told the folks at the front desk. The man working looked alarmed and said, well, there's no record that anyone is in room #xxx. I said, clearly I am, here is my room key, and he apologized, and I told him to make sure that got fixed for the next guest. This is my warning to you to check and make sure you have a hard lock on the door!

If you manage your expectations and realize that this is a holiday inn express hotel at a reasonable rate, you’ll be more than satisfied. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is plentiful and the gym is well equipped.
Add to this the Excellent location at the intersection of several major highways with Walmart, Wegmans supermarket, and the gigantic King of Prussia mall all within walking distance, you can’t go wrong in selecting this hotel.
We will stay again when we are in the area. Thank you to Liz and all of the staff at the hotel.

This HIE is in a great location to access many local attractions. The breakfast area is clean and cheerful. That's the good.

Our room was dirty. Our bed was saggy. The hallways are cheerless. Our room faced a highway and was NOISY.

The price was modest.

Room tip: Ask to stay on the room side AWAY from the highway. You should experience less noise.

I had several delivery stops throughout Philadelphia and there were no rooms available. This hotel was outside of the city but still close by. I called and received outstanding service over the phone and the check in was terrific and easy. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a comfortable room.

Room tip: Ample parking is available.

The 3 of us had a nice stay while we did sightseeing in Philly. Nicely furnished, great lighting! Plenty of comfortable places to sit besides the bed! Very comfortable bed! The only drawback was the room was narrow, so passing by in-between beds and tv console was tight. This was also complicated by the fact that the fridge was inside the lower console/cupboard (below the tv) with a cupboard door, which opened opposite from the fridge door - annoying!

Nice little balcony - weather was too hot to enjoy it. Nicer breakfast options, spacious seating & food prep areas. Excellent front desk service. Good location for sightseeing. Very complicated street patterns - we had a terrible time finding a decent fast food place nearby, unfortunately just as the very huge and complex nearby mall was closing. However, we were able to make do with decent frozen dinner options available for purchase at the front desk. (appropriate for kids & adults).

We spent 5 nights at the Holiday Inn, we were over from the UK to visit our old neighbours and do a bit of shopping.
The hotel was well placed to walk to the mall for shops and restaurants and close to Valley Forge Park for a great walk.
Had a one bedroom Suite that had lots of space and was bright and clean.
Aircon was a bit loud but we did not use too often but had open windows.
Would come again next time we cross the pond.
